Hi Ant,

Agreed.
1. I believe that we’ve seen confirmation the trial has started - 1 down, 2 to go
2. Date TBC for results
3. Give it to a formula 1 team to rush it into production:)

Pleased everyone is on good spirits today - keep it up

Drug development is not empirical in that way as I have learnt from bitter experience over the years. There are many things which can cause a drug to fail which is why you do placebo controlled trials. From what I know I put the chance of success at 75:25 but of course that is a guesstimate. The bottom line is there are no certainties in drug development.

No investment advice intended and DYOR....

From the RNS about trial locations:

Synairgen's Phase II trial in COVID-19 patients (SG016) will be a double-blind, placebo-controlled trial.

Initially, the pilot phase of the study will involve 100 COVID-19 patients, will take place across a number of NHS trusts and has been adopted by the NIHR Respiratory Translational Research Collaboration which is comprised of leading centres in respiratory medicine in the UK whose internationally recognised experts are working together to accelerate development and discovery for COVID-19.

Well I got it!

Let's hope 60 becomes support - (see back to 2008)

Then there is a blip at 70 and if that goes 100 looks on the cards.

Drug developers and inoculators
Moving from diagnostics to treatment, multiple junior biotechs are moving forward with their own potential therapies that could alleviate the symptoms of coronavirus.

Synairgen PLC (LON:SNG) has recently raised £14mln to fund the trial of its interferon-beta treatment in coronavirus patients.

The drug, SNG001, is an inhaled formulation of interferon-beta-1a and is currently being developed to treat people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) that also have respiratory viral infections such as coronavirus.

Hopes that the treatment will protect COPD sufferers from lung damage resulting from a coronavirus infection have driven the stock 214% higher to 55p over the last month.

Dear oh dear, sorry but that post is nonsense. They will not dose all the patients on the first day. There will be a slow build of patients with more recruited towards the end. So they might get the first result next Monday but it will be blinded and no-one will know if the patient was on placebo or drug!

Excellent post LH, the market certainly seems to point to that being the case...
