If, and it's big If, it is Tesla. This rise is just the start.

PUGUGLY Well when you say fallback I agree from today's peak. However it has absolutely smashed the resistance at 27/28 on massive volume (for this stock) so I think this has entered a completely different ball park now in terms of trading range. Speculation around the EV market highly likely to drive it further imo.

Key for m today is the volume - second biggest ever.

Expect Insti holdings RNS soon.

So the OEM8 contract is for an EV? Interesting.

Zeus - TP 45p = \may be one of the reasons (apart from profit taking) for the share price fallback.

Now EV noted by Bones opens up some interesting speculation -

Can’t say I can see a mention of EV anywhere in the RNS, but the Zeus Capital note released today states:

“ The Group has been selected as a sole supplier of a carbon ceramic brake disc on a new EV by a manufacturer named as OEM8.“

Thoughts? Any other interpretation?

Worth noting from Finncap's note today:

- OEM8 has "stated that it could develop similar high performance derivatives of other models in its range"
- and these would need "no further engineering or testing to approve the SCE brake product for these models"
- their 55p target is based on one production cell only
- more contract news flow which triggers investment in the next cell "could drive further valuation upside"

Can't quite remember the name of the song, balcony. It had "girls" in it though.

It is unlikely to be Porsche, Audi or any other German or British OEM as they already have well established relationships with six OEMs in these countries and have allocated numbers.

OEM8 will most likely be from a different country and probably a different continent.

Could Porsche be a possibility? The new GT4 is due this year but there's an RS version coming later, although unlikely to be so many made.
There are so many successful product lines in Porsche, including the all electric Taycan, that they at least have the demand and capacity to warrant this size of order (although I doubt that it is Porsche)

So the deal is estimated at £8m a year for three years.

If they charge £2k per 4 wheels that makes 4000 cars a year and if it's £1k per car then 8000 per year.

So which high performance cars sell between 4000 and 8000 units a year?

If it were Tesla it would be for a relaunched roadster, but I thought that was due out this calendar year.

amt, With or without Tesla I don't think your price target looks unreasonable now. When I saw the announcement I assumed it was going to open a lot higher than it did. It opened with only a marginal increase in MC that imo doesn't reflect the news. Looking at the chart I don't see that the announcement was already in the price.

Yes that would be exciting to get Tesla with role out into their future models. Would help my 2 quid target price come sooner.

They told investors in (at least) one of the recent meetings, that there had been significant interest in using them in EVs, so could OEM8 be Tesla, looking to use the discs for its new Roadster?

I was disappointed not to see them as an option on the Yaris GR which is after all a homologation special - the WRC car could certainly use them.
