I cannot really see how any of this will much affect Steppe Cement.A cement factory most unlikely to be a 'target' in any way. Most of our product sales will be to large infrastructure, building, construction projects spread across the country & we are in our seasonal low period anyway. For all we know, these 'troubles' have been deliberately fermented by agencies from the West to give Putin a distraction from the Ukraine but, I would expect Putin to quickly get on top of this & for order to be quickly restored ... folk will know it is one thing to goad the local establishment but, quite another to goad Russian troops.Assuming things quickly settle down, we should remain good to go as the Spring weather approaches & seasonal demand increases.

Not sure the President is endearing himself to the protesters with his 'shoot to kill without warning policy'! A change in President may be the only way to a resolution as opposed to a revolution. Sounds like the boy has considerably less tact than Donald Trump.

decided to pick up a few on Friday to add to existing long term holding. extra position is short term a punt on troubles dying down and a rebound in share price.

That bloke who stated as fact that there would be an interim dividend last year? Who reckons there's no such thing as shares even though some of us hold share certificates? He's an attention seeking liar. You can tell them because they write in broken English half the time but then they forget and slip out a few perfect colloquial posts (and because they don't have any real information, just made up stuff and things they misunderstood off the internet). There used to be one like that who reckoned she was Chinese and knew all about Chinese stocks but she didn't know the difference between Chinese and Japanese language. Ask him a direct question about who he is, see if you get a straight answer.

I'm intrigued to hear from Wilo. Watch the share price shoot up when he's back online.

My impression of Russian soldiers is that they don't sod around, and as such my hunch is that this brouhaha will be sorted soonest.

unsurprising, at current 40p level Steppe should return a comfortable 25%+ capital gain at 50p+ & a 12.5% dividend on top by the summer. Ive taken the opportunity to pick up 50k shares this week, still tempting to go overweight in this!

I'm out of STCM and CAML since yesterday and POLY today. I don't like the way it's looking over there.

This article explains why the population is thoroughly hacked off. The ruling family has established monopoly over much of the economy.

I am sure that everyone is wishing Wilo all the best and are looking forward to him posting he is well as soon as the internet is back on.Aside from that the share price seems pretty resilient considering and i have seen bigger drops on good results days,GLA

Investment concerns aside, let's not forget that innocent people are losing their lives due to perceived injustice, and for that it is a sad situation. Peace bro.

I suspect that the Putin machine will be busy behind the scenes and a 'man of the people' will emerge who does a great energy deal with Russia. Then after a few weeks of utter misery, it'll be back to herding the peasants as per usual.

What are the energy requirements/costs of STCM? An infrastructure drive after the upheaval would be good for cement makers. Could this be a classic 'blood in the streets' moment?

Let’s hope and pray to the Lord for peace in Kazakhstan 🇰🇿

There appears to be a mix of local factors and international factors that have lead to the issues at the heart of the protests, hopefully all the Kazak people can find a positive solution.

indeed :-)

Concrete barricade blocks use a helluva lot of cement & I'd expect demand for those has just gone through the roof.
