The share movement here is definitely being covered up. I have made a large purchase today, 95000 shares, and it has not been listed ? I guess due to sells also not being listed !CheersJWPs.I have bought more for the dividend. I am expecting between 4p and 5p per share. Fingers crossed.

STCM is preparing to start the season with excellent and high stocks of cement and clinker, and no seasonal borrowings, so it will all depend on how sales pan out, many Russians are relocating and moving to Kazakhstan, and many companies from Russia to Kazakhstan, and Russia is increasingly looking to import from and through Kazakhstan.

Yeah wierd, someone must be buying them, perhaps the price is holding up as the mms think the can buy at mid and shift them on later to pis or its another ii

Seems seb want to be fully out but volume is so thin it will take a while, might add up the large sells since the last rns and see when this might end

wow that's another 850k sold and the shareprice has held up. Not many 'apparent' buyers either ?!

The KZT exchange rate was particularly hard hit vs. the US$, close to a 20% devaluation. Against Sterling, the depreciation is ~15%. Still unpleasant, but not disastrous I'd suggest and certainly nothing like the Rouble.

Thanks Gary. I've read that. You'd imagine the exchange rate would have an effect on dividend payment though? The RNS in November is before the Ukraine invasion/exchange rate drop/SP fall. Am I right in seeing this as a hurdle to divi payment in a currency other than Tenge?

Took a few more on friday,We know steppe is cash rich and is very cheap, currency has devalued but seems to have stabilized. If steppe had large dollar debts i would be concerned but we know it is net cash.Let see how the land lies in april with q1 market update.Deduct the cash from the market cap and steppe really is very cheap. As always GLA and lets hope for a nice divi in the summer

I didn't quite get all the ins and outs of it all amongst the disappointment of the interim div there never was. I took it as it was for tax purposes and better for the company and therefore its share holders going forward. Witholding tax I think was the primary reasoning behind the interim being pulled.

Stupmy,

There was a lovely RNS on the 12/11/2021 regarding the dividend and the reason the company decided not to pay an interim.

I'm just starting to look again here, after a long time not being involved. With the Xch rate vs the dollar dropping so much, are you sure they can pay a 3.5-5p divi? Did someone say the divi had been deferred and if so, why is this? Is it due to the xch rate chaning so much this mth?

I am expecting the div to be c3.5p but that is based on the prior year total being 3.5p. Anything higher is a bonus but I am always wary of a big % final div as the price can struggle to recover from the xd drop.

We've clearly got SEB as a seller but, I care not for their opinions. If you receive their monthly missives (as I do), you will quickly see they are a 'collective' with their decision making. I don't care for that approach. It breeds 'group think' and mutual masturbation, imo.

STCM will be so much better off to see the back of these weak hands so, I pinched a few more from them today & so too should others.

Let’s see, would be nice if it was 5p
And yeah, we go out about our wealth and worrying about share movements and dividends while people in Ukraine worry about surviving the day 😕

I don't see why it should be less than 5p, as my understanding is it has been deferred until after the audited accounts. That's what I mean it seems too good to be true at the present price, and yet someone is still selling, so I don't know what to make of it all, really.I just hope that this war in Ukraine finishes soon, and Putin is shot. How can anyone justify totally flattening another country. JW

Joey ..do you really expect a 5p dividend. I know we didn’t get the november one so that should be included. I was thinking more like 3.5p …5p is 20% give or take on current price.

For me, Matt, this one is about receiving the dividend annually and then using it over the following 12 months budgeted monthly to help enjoy retirement. I am continually drawn to the potential dividend.JW

Every month, I add £1k STCM into my SIPP. Just keep averaging in month after month.
I believe it's a great combination of Short Term Value & Yield and Long Term Growth.
Far, far, far too boring for most AIM punters but, I'm willing to buy the above boring combination and gradually relieve the sellers of the shares.
I believe others with a 5+Yr horizon should do same.

I can't imagine Russia having an appetite for any more confrontation. I just can see a great opportunity here. STCM are hoping to capex an increase in turnover by summer 2022. They are producing to capacity and surely at some point the demand for concrete in future will not be able to be met fast enough. Expected 5p dividend in July. I can't understand why anyone would be selling this atm. It seems crazy. The lowest I've ever seen this is 22p. I just wondered if anyone thought it may revisit this level. Albeit at the price it is ridiculously cheap. In fact I bought it originally at 41p and thought that was a gift.CheersJW

Today's trades of 2 x 100k and 1 x 200k tell us that the seller is still dumping when they can. It may still be SEB ? Surely they can't have many left now ?
