19/12/2016 08:47 | Do you have £400k in SPD? | useless23
19/12/2016 08:34 | My opinions have always been very honest DD . In fact one of the last things I've have said is that I think they could easily go as low a 250 before rebounding . I have 400k worth of stock and a 3 million pound portfolio which I've built up over 10 years. I was also a trader in the city for 24 years. I don't need to ramp things old boy.Work hard today . | nortic 007
19/12/2016 07:48 | TerminatedYour invested here I'm not, so you should know why Rev went up and profits dropped for year end April 16, sterling?.It's not just me that's saying that earnings are forecast to decline, take a look at broker forecasts.Good luck here, who knows where it will be in a few years time, just a pity contrarian views on this thread are not welcome with the same appetite as the rampers - human nature I suppose!.DD | discodave4
19/12/2016 04:57 | There's no point in talking to DD . He's obviously got some deep rooted issues with MA and SPD and views are full of one dimensional negativity about the company. I wonder if he has a position in either stock. The fact he can't admit JD's recent short comings says it all. | nortic 007
19/12/2016 00:52 | Sorry sent that sentence on phone and can't append it using the app. However, revenues increased 2.5% but profits declined 8%. So they are selling more goods but earning less profit over the last 6 months. and your reason for this??? It can only be the unexpected currency hike depressing their selling margin. There is no other logical way to explain it. Going forward the pound is recovering, most retailers (because this has affected most clothing retailers) will increase the selling price after Xmas to reestablish margin and as all are doing it no-one gets a competitive advantage. Your valuation is based on margin not improving and hence profits not improving on similar revenue over next 12 months. | terminated
19/12/2016 00:52 | Come on what? | discodave4

18/12/2016 18:00 | So explain please . Who do you compare them with? | nortic 007
18/12/2016 17:58 | Maybe this will help DDJD Sports and Sports Direct have competed avidly to become the champion of sports apparel retailing; not just on the high street but also online. Both websites offer a range of high quality sporting brands at a discount. Additionally, both websites are two of the most visited sites in the UK and both see a significant quantity of traffic passing through on a daily basis. Today, these top competitors are pitted against each other in a race to decide who will collect the gold medal in sportswear distribution. In QuBit's latest Battle of the Sites, the two sites for JD Sports and Sports Direct are evaluated for website user experience. | nortic 007
18/12/2016 17:44 | No, I agree that they shouldn't be valued the same. Not at the moment at least. But that's a separate issue from them being comparable businesses. Yeah their business models differ but they're both high street retailers selling sportswear and it's widely accepted that they're fierce rivals. Who's is SPDs competition then in your opinion? | unnavailable
18/12/2016 17:36 | You keep saying they're different . I'd like you to enlighten me. | nortic 007
18/12/2016 17:34 | Explain yourself then. | nortic 007
18/12/2016 17:06 | They have completely different business models (or at least they did!).Why should SPD have a PE of 27 rather than 12 - 16?, forget JD for a while.DD | discodave4
18/12/2016 16:52 | Disco, can you help me understand why SPD and JD arent comparable?. It seems you're suggesting they're not comparable businesses but basing this on valuation metrics such as the PE. Does this mean then that if earnings fall at JD and the PE falls more in line, they suddenly become comparable businesses?. Thanks. | unnavailable
18/12/2016 16:47 | Are you that Harry Enfield character, you know the one "Frank" used to puff his cheeks out when he got mad? | nortic 007
