14/12/2016 11:52 | I don't know but could this be an opportunity for SPD to somehow work this to there advantage . Maybe to get their house in order. | nortic 007
14/12/2016 11:22 | The Times todayExhausted JDS sports staff faced sack if they sat down. Conditions at a JD sports warehouse are worse than in prison..... ROCHDALE. Workers sacked on the spot....Seems the Times have the story out first. Pg4 | au24

14/12/2016 07:38 | I think what this highlights is that if you looked inside most major companies around the world they would probably find the same issues . It's not just confined to the likes of SPD or JD ....... It's a fast moving corporate world that we live in and profit margins are everything and companies will do whatever it takes. Let's not kid ourselves !! | nortic 007
14/12/2016 07:29 | Jd sports has double the market cap of SPD yet roughly similar profits margins. There'll be a rush for the exit at JD today I reckon. Fear that what happened to SPD could start happening there. | useless23
13/12/2016 23:23 | Interesting reports coming out on working practices at JD. Ch4 investigation to be aired tomorrow. Hmmm | unnavailable
13/12/2016 17:12 | Does seem that way. Been like it for last 3 months or so. Have a good evening. | nortic 007
13/12/2016 16:50 | There is obvious support here at 280p | useless23
13/12/2016 16:32 | Followed by a tupenny nose dive at close. | au24
13/12/2016 16:29 | The Jet has taken off late this afternoon :) | au24
13/12/2016 11:46 | Btw they didn't like the Jet. Lol | au24
13/12/2016 11:45 | The Times are bashing spd again today, based on nothing imo only sentiment. Now is the time to buy l would say as cant go down much lower. | au24
13/12/2016 11:15 | Watching SPD today I'm wondering if they'll do the normal . Up in the morning and down the ski slope in the afternoon . Answers on a postcard please. | nortic 007
13/12/2016 11:04 | I wondered the same swampy. He had been given the option to buy by shareholders and so not necessary to state he wouldn't. Maybe, if we are being generous to him, he was trying to stop short and long positions opening after a mixed set of results. If the market observes you are committed to buying shares around £3 they could try manipulating the price. Forcing it down, then going long during periods of low volume. | terminated
13/12/2016 10:14 | I can see both your points of view gents. Yes he could be getting the price down and then bid but that could have implications plus he won't have a vote and then nobody excepts . Also take a look at the share buybacks so far . SPD have hardly been inundated with sellers? There could be something planned for 6-12 months down the line and that might account for halt in buy back but who knows.I agree Mike Ashley needs to stop buying jets at the drop of a hat. If it wasn't for such PA disasters they would be on a much a higher rating. What do you think Disco Dave. I genuinely like to hear your feedback . | nortic 007
13/12/2016 09:33 | Maybe but that is going to cost him a lot of money, seems keen on ruining any form of good sentiment related to SPD what with jet buying, family members etc etc. You would not think he could drag SPD any better if he was trying......is he . | swampydrill
13/12/2016 09:28 | Maybe MA will next change his mind and say "reluctantly" he's going to take the company private. | philo124
13/12/2016 09:13 | I don't see why Ashley had to do an RNS to state he is pausing his share buy back, if he was stopping then fair enough but it looks to me that he is almost trying to push the price lower. If he had previously stated they will buy back under 300p then surely there is no need to issue anything. | swampydrill
13/12/2016 07:51 | Missus has been doing her part. Another car full of Sports Direct shopping completed yesterday. Acrually some very neat multibuy prices... on some polo shirts. Going back today, as i said grab me half a dozen of those polos as they will be great for quick relaxing time throw ons. The business cant fail. Although a large section of the press would like to see it. Thats just because their egos wont allow them to admit that spd are actually addressing criticisms made against them. | whites123
12/12/2016 16:43 | The rain started here just as the share price fell,a sign lol, Nothing surprises me either. Sunshine tomorrow on both fronts let's hope. | au24
12/12/2016 16:26 | Saying that , the market has been bad today in general . Most of the graphs look like SPD today but still disappointing . | nortic 007 |
