Its nice to see the bright side of boxing, boxing for charity.

Maybe we will see more advertising revenue to sop from these big corporations in the future.

DebRA, which raises money for those suffering from the genetic skin disease Epidermolysis Bullosa, is hoping to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds this Friday night with the help of Frank Warren's Sports Network.

The charity will benefit from an evening of boxing at London's Park Lane Hilton hotel, which will see an expected full house of 550 plus the presence of the ITV2 television cameras.

Top of the bill is a Commonwealth light-middleweight title clash between Ossie Duran and Colin McNeil, but the real winners will be the 5,000 or so EB sufferers in the UK.

The incredibly painful disease was highlighted in the Channel 4 documentary The Boy Who's Skin Fell Off, which documented the last few weeks in the life of Jonny Kennedy.

Warren met inspirational Jonny - a big fight fan - the day before he died, and since then has worked with DebRA, which offers support and care to those afflicted by EB and their families.

EB sufferers have skin which blisters or shears off at the slightest touch, and it is a condition they are born with.

They also have internal blistering, and are more susceptible to skin cancer than the normal population.

Director of Special Events John Taylerson is hoping to raise enough money to pay for two full-time specialist nurses and kick-start the building of a research centre courtesy of Friday night.

But the ultimate aim of all involved is to improve medical knowledge so much that EB can be eradicated.

To do that, scientists need to develop a technique to replace infected genes with healthy ones.

"Hopefully in 10 years time we won't have a need for an evening like this because there will be no more EB," said Warren, who wants to hold a yearly charity event.

This year's affair has been aimed at big spending corporations from the city, with ringside tables on sale at #10,000 each.

There will also be a charity auction - which includes Bobby Moore's 100th England cap - and the presence of celebrity guests.

The boxers will obviously play their role, and as well as the Commonwealth title fight, Andy Morris meets Mickey Coveney, Kevin Mitchell tackles Vladimir Borov and Ross Minter defends his Southern Area title against Sammy Smith.

Those wishing to make a donation to DebRA can contact the charity on 01344 771961 or e-mail suep@debra.org.co.uk or visit DebRA's website on www.debra.org.co.uk.

frank

I am very happy with your single share investment thats gone up 75%, some of us have just a few more than that.

Listing the talented boxers will just aggrevate the sore point you have with the simons, for which you still havent replied.

You seem to be working yourself over, on the board thinking that it may effect the share price. I have bought my shares and am delighted with my holdings.

I dont think amortisation has to be written down, it is after all an asset.

Frank, you can call yourself whatever you want, but trying to promote yourself as frank bruno, is probally illegal.
Frank bruno has an amzing relationship with warren, frank bruno is no a jew hater, I know that personally. As I said using the name frankbruno is your choice, but dont misrepresent who you are.

hirsch - I'm actually quite tempted to arrange a mutually acceptable escrow account and take a few grand off our friend FrankB. 50/1 is a better return than I'm likely to get anywhere else, currently.

FWIW, I find it difficult to imagine that SOP won't turn in a profit.
As you correctly point out, the only potential hiccough might be a writedown, with a considerable amount of goodwill on the balance sheet.
However, if turnover is expected to remain in the same ballpark, I don't think goodwill looks unreasonable.

However, I'd say that your target of 12p/15p is overenthusiastic.
If you are basing it on MWM's figures above, don't forget that SQC appear to have "accidentally"(LOL!) forgotten to include amortisation, which I'd pitch at around £840k PA.

FrankB - what's your angle here?
Why are you so convinced that SOP won't turn in an interim profit, when all the evidence from the last results suggests that they will?

Sop will post a profit, the question is will they write anything off.

There is currently about 9,000,000 shares in overhang. Once those are cleared assuming we win the hatton court case, I wouldnt be suprised to hit the 12-15p mark.

Frank

I woudnt be suprised that any boxer would leave if they would be offered better pay, if they could. Thats what a contract is and needs to be adhered to.
First of all its not "we", you are not a shareholder, as you said, and we havent yet lost hatton, the court will judge. Yes it will be a setback if we loose hatton, but there seems to be quite a bit of young talent at sop.
