Food for Thought :

1/ Calzaghe is out injured.

2/ Harrisson is out injured.

3/ Hatton has left.ITV are fuming over this.

4/ Khan will need at least 10 more fights before he has a title fight....that will be over 2 years in the future.

5/ It was not sold out last night in Cardiff. They were selling tickets at the door.

To all you on this board that are barking wait for the share price to plummet this week....the sauce is on you hur hur hur hur!!!!!

fb seems to have some conflict here, with his constant derampings.
Kelly brook one of the more recent fighters is meant to be amazing. Don king has agreed to have a fight with harrison which will be big time in the usa. Don king expressed an interest to frank warren to go 50/50 with warren.
Imo we have a great stable of fighters with us being promoted on itv bodes very well.
I feel very sorry for hatton on his announcements tomorrow and I hope he doesnt get into too much hot water.

sold out or not?

Promoter Frank Warren, keen to protect his investment in the November 5 unification battle with IBF boss Jeff Lacy, has provided the Welshman with as much of a gimme as is possible for this evening's sold-out Hors D'oeuvre at the Cardiff International Arena.

How many millions watched khan?

As well as millions of viewers at home it can have done Khan no harm at all that among the 5,000 capacity crowd was a boxing figure as big and powerful as King.

Frank Warren has snapped up WBA number one light-welterweight contender Souleymane M'baye - and is confident of securing him a shot against current champion Carlos Maussa.

M'baye has fought for the WBA title before, losing to Vivian Harris on points, his only setback in 33 starts.

But he is still number one in the organisations rankings – and long overdue his mandatory crack at the title.

"I believe in signing up the best talent in boxing, irrespective of where they come from," said Warren.

"When I was given the chance of signing M'baye I leapt at the chance.

"As his promoter I'm keen for him to get the WBA title shot as soon as possible. He is number one to Maussa and should get his chance before anyone else."

"It was good to see him going four without any problems, so perhaps a more aggressive foe will now be chosen to give the crowd the sight of a knockout once more.

Whoever he fights the public will turn out in force to see him – you couldn't get a ticket for the CIA for love nor money and they were changing hands outside for a price well above face value.

The appearance of Khan in the Welsh capital had even attracted Don King to ringside, and he obliged the ITV cameras with an interview.

Earlier in the evening – and not for the first time – King had, with tongue firmly in cheek, suggested that Frank Warren was interested in going into a 50-50 partnership on Khan."

But as long as Khan keeps performing like this, there's about as much chance of that happening as King trademark "electric-shock" haircut being brutalised by hair-clippers on a number-one setting.

Take a look at Frank Warren t.v. Negotiations are underway between Don King and Frank Warren to give Matt Skelton a shot at one of the World Heavyweight titles.
IMO ITV's coverage last night was excellent. Pity about Calzaghe's hand injury, but it's pretty impressive to retain your title with one hand. Amir Khan will prove to draw massive audiences if he continues his progress. In fact, make no mistake, boxing would not have returned to terrestrial t.v. if it wasn't for Khan's success at the olympics.
It will be interesting to see the viewing figures given that the boxing was competing against MOTD on BBC.

on showtime or not?

Calzaghe-Lacy would be broadcast live on ITV and in the United States, by Showtime. After years when Calzaghe did not always get the respect he believes he deserved, he could be heading for a high-profile Indian summer in his life as a boxer.

King was full of praise after witnessing Calzaghe first hand.

"He is a great champion and a great competitor. He re-adjusted after his hand went and I think he is a great fighter and a great champion," he said.

"He showed his courage and was tenacious and steadfast in spite of his hand injury and I think that is what champions are made of."

Hirsch...all tickets have not been sold out.Dont listen to the press and what SOP say.Go to the arena and have a look...it will be a third empty and that includes all the free complimentary tickets given away...which is nearly 500.

Amir Khan wont make SOP any money unless he becomes a champion.

FB... what planet are you from ? proper wind up merchant aren't you...

Still think your wrong mate.(and also one leg short of a boxers stool!)

This share has a habit of bouncing around all over the place so not worried that it's down today and perhaps down abit more in the coming days..
I still think SOP will come good. It may take a while but I never went into SOP for the short term !

I don't mind if it does go down. It'll be a good buying opportunity on the back of Amir Khan. He'll do well for FW and SOP
