Hirsch, rcktmn, agree with both of you, plus, if the rift betweeen them isn't healed it could, effectively be the end of Hatton's career! all IMHO

Hatton starts training for bout that may never take place
By Ron Lewis

AN OFFER of about £2 million from Sky Television is thought to be at the heart of Ricky Hatton's decision to try to split with Frank Warren, his promoter, although the IBF light-welterweight champion may live to regret turning down a deal that could have made him Britain's best-known boxer in a decade.
Three months after his historic win over Kostya Tszyu, Hatton went into full training this week for a bout that is likely never to happen. He has no opponent, no set date, no venue and it appears more and more likely that his next battle will be in a courtroom, not a boxing ring, after Warren started legal proceedings against Hatton to enforce what he believes is a binding three-bout agreement - that would mean Hatton is unlikely to box again this year.

Despite talking to promoters in the United States, the money offered by Sky is thought to be the biggest offer. Warren, who has managed and promoted Hatton since his professional debut eight years ago, ended his ten-year relationship with Sky this summer, and taking away his biggest asset could be seen by the satellite company as ample revenge.

Warren has offered Hatton the chance to make his first defence on ITV, which would guarantee a huge peak-time audience, thus ensuring that Hatton's profile grows considerably. "He is in the position where he can work out his own deals and then employ a promoter to take care of the promotion," a promoter said. "There will be no shortage of people offering to do that."

I meant the sports network group made over £2m.
I think you are wrong about money earners, hatton has had one big fight this year in the men arena. Sop revenue comes from tv and advertising, the itv contract is fixed for the next 2 years. In 2 years if sop doesnt have any decent boxers, then I would show concern
Amir khan is making money now, his boxing style is liked and rumor has it, that was part of itv attraction to sop

youre probally right

Jethro/hirsch:

SOP have about 60 boxers on there books. The main monry earners are Hatton,Calzaghe and Harrison.Hatton is the crown jewel due to the ticket sales sold at the MEN Arena. With Hatton out of the picture this has a huge effect on the bottom line...huge.

SOP never made £2m...they made a loss last year....they will make a loss this year aswell!!!!!!

The depot in Russia does not make any money..there are no champions there.

Amir Khan will only make money if he becomes a british or world champion....that will take over 2 years. He will have to have at least 10 fights before he has a title fight.

So listen to Frank...i am always right....hur hur hur hur!!!!!

To buy shares in this you must be barking!!!!!

H.. I don't think so... the Hatton saga could take months to resolve and i think that FW & SOP will want to demonstrate that SOP does not revolve around Hatton.

I wander whether sop will wait until the hatton saga finishes to release results?

From my point of view I reckon SOP will do well with the share price heading north... expecting good profits in the next interims due shortly (released 8th Sept last year)....Hatton is small beer in the overall scheme of things... Amir Khan is now the bees knees and will well for SOP.. I got in at 5p earlier this year so now breking even.. .expect this to double/treble at some point in the near future..(imho)

I am as suprised as you are that the share price didnt go down today. Not, as I just commented, is anything to worry about, but the initial reaction has had no effect, maybe everyone was watching partygaming or long termers arnt afraid

Kelly brook who has just been signed up by sop is being highlighted as an amazing boxer and potentialy better than hatton (see frankwarren.tv)
Amir khan seems to be learning the game
Joe ca... seems to be very good as well

Last year without hatton sop made over £2m, sop can manage without hatton. Did you know sop have 100 boxers under contract?

What about the depot they have in russia, all young boxers but they will make it.

fb
I think to predict a share price of 3p is unrealistic, but you may or may not be right. You have a position to short, go ahead. Imo this ahre has alot further to go.

FB, Whilst Ricky Hatton is an excellent boxer, he's not the only horse in the SOP stable, it will do him no good at all to be laid off whilst a court case ensues, I doubt he will be allowed to fight whilst an action is pending, and even if he did win his case, there are other boxers around waiting to move up, FW is always on the lookout for new talent with title potential, SOP is going to go places with or without Hatton, the boxing world is riddled with exboxers who thought "they" were bigger than the show! all IMHO
