Given the very small spread on the 2 trades (0.1p if I remember correctly), it might have been a trade between family members (i.e. husband to wife, or into a trust). This may not generate a TR1 as the beneficial holders may not change. It happened last year.

We're due a Holdings RNS imminently, for the big trade a few days ago. Curious to see who sold or picked up that lot.Also today, might be some share buybacks. Looks like the right sizes, hundreds of thousands per trade.

I see the buybacks have stopped, despite the share price drifting lower.Are they in a restricted period? Didn't think so but checking.Alternatively maybe there's some imminent material information, either good or bad, so they can't so buybacks for now?

The objective of the buyback is to purchase and cancel shares, thereby increasing EPS. It's not going to necessarily yield immediate results. What you really want is for Spectra to be able to buy-back as many shares as possible with the money allocated for them. This will result in the maximum EPS benefit.

If the idea of the buyback is to improve the share price, why make the announcement after normal trading hours?
Why not make it in the morning with most other company news so maybe potential new investors may take a look at the company

Though frustrating in the short term I'd rather Nabil be patient and buy back the shares at a lower price. That said the broker may have already been given a mandate by the company regarding the share buybacks?

Quite astounding shire price action here over the last six weeks. Just sitting on my hands waiting to buy some more. Another day of small buys and sells. Nabil really does need to step these buybacks up and take the sellers out. Perhaps do a tender offer at 160p?

The last 3 share buybacks of 300k shares approx. £500k has resulted in a share price decline of 19%!

Another 100k buyback. Far better average at 158.79How many more shares in this overhang ?
