It read negatively to me but I have absolutely no problem with anyone being bearish on any holding of mine. It's what makes a market and whose to say I will be right!!I'm a very happy holder here and have a lot of faith in Nabil to carry on delivering what he has done now for many years.Nabil has produced incredible results in what has been the trickiest of years. There aren't many companies that have produced record profits and dividends in a covid year.More to come and market is totally ignoring G7 contract which should triple profits for 3 years.Let's see

It's saying it will languish in the face of a lack of growth forecasts or any new contracts. There is a big difference.

I'd say that's very reasonable, especially as we seem to be unable to currently attract any new investors in.

Nabi, has to realise not only do you have to talk the talk, as in the Proactive, but you need to walk the walk as well.

Why would anyone buy in for growth on those forecasts?

Nico,

Ref ''languish.'' I was asking a question? I just missed the ''is'' as in, is it?

If I thought the shares would languish, I would not have featured SPSY as a Zulu Growth company.

I hope the corrected typo helps.

Interesting article today in FT about huge surge in Euro cash issuance over the last year, because people are hoarding it. Presumably for hoarding purposes, higher value banknotes are desirable, the ones that need more security features."amount of euro banknotes in circulation rose €156bn over the past year despite cash falling as a share of daily transactions. The 12.2 per cent jump in physical euros in circulation mainly stemmed from EU households hoarding more cash"

What about the narrative from WH Ireland? Surely that comments on the contract? They should really explain why they haven't reflected it in the forecasts.

So at eps level they are forecasting negligible growth for 2021 and 2022?

Hardly fits the narrative does it?

Confused.

I have been a holder for nearly 3 years and remain positive.
It seems to me one of the issues holding back the share price is the forecasts which continue show a pretty static position in terms of eps growth (11.9p to 12.2) over the next two years and a modest increase in dividend per share.
It all seems to come back to management converting one or more of the significant opportunities talked about which will drive a significant increase in sales and profits and allow WH Ireland to post something which takes us from low growth to high growth and a rerating.
The key judgement call is on management delivering - Nabil seems pretty bullish but I guess you would expect this from management!

WH Ireland comments;

"...With meaningful earnings upgrades to the current financial year (EPS +5%), and new, progressive, albeit conservative, forecasts for FY2022E, the current outlook is strong; while pipeline opportunities continue to be highly promising, offering further transformational upside. Well-invested and with wellcontrolled costs (and high gross margins), Spectra’s results today provide further support for our fair value assessment of 240p, significantly ahead of the current share price."

Proactive interview...

Spectra Systems CEO speaks to 'phenomenal' year of growth for the banknote authentication provider

Spectra Systems Corporation (LON:SPSY) CEO Nabil Lawandy tells Proactive the group has had 'the best year ever' in terms of demand for banknote covert materials, where it received the largest order ever in company history.

Speaking on its full year results, Lawandy says the group has had a 'phenomenal' year, where revenue increased by 11% from 2019 to $14.6M.

The group notes the £2.40/share Lawandy mentions is the share valuation from broker WH Ireland in its October 2020 report.

Company still has authority to buyback 3.654M shares. Nabil states in his short interview that they intend to take advantage of the ‘transiently depressed share price’ by buying more shares for cancellation. I would like to see them get on with this as soon as possible.
Still everything to go for here imo, multiple opportunities of which the COVID decontamination project is just the latest and I am looking forward to seeing the press on that story and some orders from the targeted areas Nabil mentions, namely casinos and banks.
I’ve watched his interview a few more times and it is very positive in terms of his language and he is not a man used to hyperbole. ‘Ongoing growth story’ ‘phenomenal story that I want investors to pay attention to’ ‘I don’t think you will find a better story anywhere’ ‘phenomenal year and a phenomenal next year’ ‘beats market expectations again’ all really good stuff from Nabil, I don’t think I have ever heard him so effusive about the company and it’s prospects in the seven years that I have held. One day we will see the share price somewhere near where it ought to be, £2.40 for starters, gla.

@nico115 - Whilst it is encouraging to see some of the big names that they are marketing this "new product family" to, that in itself is no guarantee of success, so I don't think it is unreasonable for investors to wait until SPSY are able to announce some concrete sales agreements with Apple or the like before placing any value on the potential. Encouraging all the smae.

"In addition, working with our polymer partner, Toray Industries, we have developed a new product family of smartphone-readable packaging films for use in the brand authentication market where print is not an option. This is being actively marketed to large brands such as Apple, BAT, Estee Lauder, JUUL and others."
