He could be used to eye up some under valued UK assets that fit Spectras new investment profile ??

That certainly looks like a very interesting non-exec appointment. https://www.investegate.co.uk/spectra-systems--spsy-/rns/appointment-of-director/202102091411575060O/ I wonder which of his many skills SPSY are particularly expecting to benefit from.

Why should WHI sweat for SPSY? With their net cash position and fcf incoming, they won't need a Placing Agent for quite some time.

I agree. Whilst nothing is ever guaranteed, it looks to me that we almost have guaranteed earnings upgrades to come here. 2022 estimates should be quite revealing.

Harrogate I should have mentioned that, assuming the numbers showing on Stockopedia are up to date, WHI did not modify their broker estimates for SPSY to reflect the contract win 0n 21-Oct-20. An additional $1.9m in 2020 and (say) $2.8m in each of the subsequent years is probably quite material to a company with forecast revenue of $15m in 2020 and $16.5m in 2021

I understand that but I am sure some of it was already in 2021 numbers and there is no real indication as yet that the work on this phase will start earlier. I don't know for sure but would think that the readers slated for 2023 - 2025 are part of a massive project for the central bank of which Spsy are a vital but small part and so I doubt this means deliveries will start earlier. Let's hope I am totally wrong !!

Harrogate No the $5.8m will contribute to the 2021 and 2022 forecasts even if this lops a bit off 2023. Albeit if this goes well, presumably some of the revenues from the follow on contract will kick in earlier

He's not been the most helpful of people in the past The analysts are decent but I just don't think the others they give a ##ss about Spsy

No reply to my very polite email to Chris Fielding at WHIreland, really poor but no surprise. I should have been a broker, license to print money and have to do sweet FA.

Yes I am sure we will upgrade above the current $5.8m as is the SPSY way which will be great. I was more thinking that this week's news will not really lead to one

Why do you think there will be some serious upgrades to revenue and profits to 2021? Or did you mean 2022?

Yes, we have every reason to be VERY "FED" UP with the current SP, given the recent news flow

Fair comment nico As per Ben Graham: “In the short run, the market is a voting machine but in the long run, it is a weighing machine.” If SPSY go on delivering, at some point we will see the above transition... ...despite the lack of institutional investors and the shortcomings of WHI.

Its certainly quite an achievment for the share price to be down on a day with such a positive announcement.

Agree with all points made Problem is Nabil has enough with running the company without having to spend too much time on pr I hope he delegates and gets a PR company along with having a stern talk with Irelands I'm not buying more here as I'm seriously overweight (18 stone!) as many here know I genuinely think we have one of the most exciting companies on Aim,yet at the same time we are at a low point with regards to PR and institutional interest.Such a shame ,soul destroying.Retail have taken up the gauntlet .Time for WHI to pull their finger out .

That's a fair point Glaws. I have never met Nabil but from exchanging emails I have built up a picture of a very private man who just wants to get on with running the business, and to some extent that's what I want him to do as well. The fact is somebody from the company does need to 'front up' and work with the broker to promote the company and interact with the shareholders. The fact that the share price is down today just says it all to me.

Nabil doesn't help himself. There is no PI interaction other than with eminent large holders. Cancelling the AGM year on year doesn't help. Contrast this with Somero - the US management (pre covid) would come over twice a year and hold an open meeting for PIs at Finncap.
