Curious timing to see this interview with Nabil Lawandy prior to the full year results release? hTTps://www.proactiveinvestors.co.uk/companies/news/942768/spectra-systems-sees-35x-increased-demand-of-banknote-authentication-orders-from-central-banks-942768.html

I’m probably asking a daft question but what happened to the share buyback program? Don’t they have headroom to buy up to 3.65m shares?

Thanks very much To see cellular with a mkt cap of 150m last week with no revenues and probably no profits for 4 years And spectra with a mkt cap of 70m with 12m cash and 5m of profit Beggars belief But that's the market we are in !!

Fair point nico It seems that the recovery trade is on with a lot of struggling companies bid up to bizarre levels and other companies irrationally punished. I hope you are rewarded for your investment here in due course. Lets hope the results and outlook on circa 23-Mar-21 are as decent as we all hope/expect.

Put my hands up and admit I never saw us anywhere near this price I bought 110k at 160p last week Really thought this RNS below was the best contract win in Spsy history and would be worth at least 50p to our share price Spectra Systems Corporation, a leader in machine-readable high speed banknote authentication, brand protection technologies, and gaming security software, is pleased to announce that it has executed a comprehensive services contract with a central bank for the development, manufacture and servicing of a sensor system for this customer. The contract includes $1.9MM to initiate Phase 1 development work and has three major additional phases which include a $5.6MM Phase 2 development through 2023, as much as $34MM for the delivery of an as yet unspecified number of sensors, and a service component worth approximately $7.5MM (covering the current sensors and including the typical ten year life of the maximum number of new sensors to be delivered after development

I'm always worried when I see a steadily dropping share, with no decreasing holding rns to indicate someone depressing the price through continued selling.Looks like potentially some bad news leaked, and some are in the know. For example the loss of a big contract.

Agreed have made some further nice gains on ARB, MXC and AVCT but on very a much reduced pot.... my main holding is Spectra and the dividend should look after my day to day living whilst we wait for value to play out.

nico I guess ultimately you are hoping for SPSY to be sold to another company. In that case, I would like to think that the share price at the initial bid approach would have little to do with the finally agreed price.

I’m a newbie here. I have bought a few shares but only a relatively small number. Why? I don’t feel I understand the company properly as there have been no webinars etc to give me the comfort to buy more.

I actually don't think the problem is retail We have an excellent retail following with some of the most astute market participants holding Spsy (me excluded )Personally I think it's an institutional problemWhy ?Combination of broker notes not having forecasts inFor 2022 and excluding potential wins meaning no growth in numbers ..we go to the extreme of under promising ,my 8 year old niece could do that.No Agms and no salesman taking ownership

I don’t disagree PJ but all we are asking for is a little bit of interaction from the company with its shareholders and potential shareholders. We are just completely unknown to investors at this point, that is why there is a lack of buyers. It’s ridiculous that one of our posters is the largest shareholder.

Maybe someone who claims PR is the answer, can supply a list of profitable Companies, on a forward p/e of x20, who have improved their PR substantially, along with the share price?

Be careful what you ask for. Most scams and unscrupulous BoD's have extremely good, if not excellent, PR. I'd much prefer the figures to do the talking, including correct forecasts.

How about encouraging the company as first initial step to appear on the likes of hTTps://www.investormeetcompany.com/ or hTTps://www.piworld.co.uk/ In this day and age and with the challenges of covid and the increase in virtual engagement there really is no excuse.....

Nico, I think you are spot on with the concerns holding Spectra back in terms of share price. What is encouraging for me (intending to hold long term) is that many of these negatives are short term. Some are self-inflicted, though. With such poor communications (PR, no AGMs, comms with new/small shareholders, brokers, US-based but UK-listed) there is room for doubt, skepticism and concerns about e.g. conflicts of interest related to Solaris to make new potential investors choose to "avoid" rather than "buy" - as there are plenty of other fish in the sea. Although some existing shareholders like yourself have an (as it appears from this board) excellent direct relationship with the CEO and therefore may not be worried in the same way, trust is an essential ingredient that is hard to build and easy to lose. So I think the company should make a concerted effort to communicate much better. This really does not have to be costly or very time consuming - open webmeetings with Q&A would go a long way. If it could get its IR and comms up to mediocre, I'd be OK!

I've added 35k at 160.5 this week Loads of positives I've often alluded to Negatives are The weak dollar ,no pr,need joint broker ,need investor meets or podcasts, two or three decent sellers around, buyback not aggressive enough ,closed period so no buyback,Solaris deal not taken well, need Agms, broker forecasts are wrong ,cashless society worriesHowever I'm still a buyer and think we are 50p undervalued TODAY

SPYS isn’t directly affected by the IG change to margins but a lot of IG investors are having to rebalance their stocks to compensate for the reduction in leverage.
