NM will need positive Porvenir news as the AGM vote is too close and probably now not in his favour....probably wanted to release at most appropriate time for him....corporate action moved up a gear I would think....perhaps this is what the market believes....

At least the price of copper is finally doing what was expected, even if a few years late. Gold too might have bottomed.

After the initial pullback the market seems happy enough. SOLG worth holding, multiple assets

It would seem to me an update on Porvenir is close .

I think NM will want to go into the AGM with good news . It maybe that he wanted to get the delayed news on the PFS out the way before giving the Porvenir update .

They just never get ahead of the curve do they! About as much cred as 10 Downing Street. But it's all going to be OK because we've set up a new Committee! So now they're bound to deliver by the end of January. Yeah right!

Not the best ever RNS but kept us updated so we know where we are and the share price has bounced back nicely

If there were any credible doubts about Alpala, (and if copper fell back) the shares would be back to the low 20's if not lower. But with a confirmed rich core, the payback looks quick. On the other hand, the PEA showed a big drop in profitability 10 years in and no profit after 25 years. So the claim that it's the long life mine the majors look for doesn't hold up.

Hi Donald,Out of interest, what caused you to close your position here?CheersLeo

The elephant in the room has always been Alpala, with the assumption the project is basically sound and the PEA valuation will be confirmed. But there are plenty of hints here that the financial model will disappoint, including a completely unnecessary reminder that they will continue to tune the PFS after publication.

Trying to look for positives. Hopefully the new appointments and committee picked up the issue. Had they been in place earlier, it may not have happened. It means SOLG are better placed moving forward. It's still damaging to reputation, confidence, trust and respect. These are the currency of our share price through to production and so has financial consequences.

Don't have a position here anymore but strikes me that NM is losing all credibility

If there was ANY good news on drilling, you'd have thought NM would have said so to counter this ! And there was a leak, obviously.

There are only so many ways you can embellish the phrase "we didn't manage delivery of the PFS very well and only realised serious gaps in final review". The fact we heard about this delay last week from CGP is all the more embarrassing.

I am embarrassed for Solg. This whole PFS release has turned into yet another fiasco. Will it also need translating into French? Pizz poor.

Hate it when 'pleased' isnt in the first sentence of such an RNS.

Ominous looking share chart. All NM's 'bidders circling' tweets shown up for the desperate puff and wind that they are.

"Why would Cornerstone invite offers for their company and at the same time raise $7m in a private placement?"
Because without the $7m they will be bust and someone can buy them for nothing

Interesting description / video of block caving in Freeport McMoran's' Grasberg mine which only started production a year ago.

hxxps://www.fcx.com/operations/indonesia#blockcavemining

Its very roughly the same size as Alpala - same sort of orebody and similar grades and production. (as far as I can see !) Still looking if any separate feasibity study for it, and any value Freeport places on it.

'Reasons to buy Cornerstone' just tweeted by Cornerstone.
