Unless

1 The release might be seen as a breach of faith by one party if it confers an advantage and thus undermining the central issues of the talks.

2. The news might be seen a a breach of faith by arousing the interest and appetite of other parties sufficient to undermine any talks in which case any news might be withheld.

In any talks the parties may have accepted The Book of AMOS CH 3 vs 3

DD I think the writer had you and me in mind.

Even if talks are in train, I don't see that would prevent normal release of news. There are rules after all.

The answer to your direct question is "NO" but it may be that we each see each other as diverging from a more moderate stance such as that put forward by LOW. Something may change if agreed at the AGM but we don`t know its significance and purpose as it is easy to hypothesise. We don`t know whether NM will dilute or just use the option as leverage.

Above all we all agree that we need news of some kind and preferably are being denied this because talks are going on re Alpala or even POR or even the whole lot.

RP, it is perfectly clear news is being withheld. The question is why?

SOLG would normally have no reason to delay news. If there are negotiations taking place behind the scenes, under what circumstances would all news from PFS, to Porvenir, To Blanca be held back? Under what circumstances would SOLG delay drilling Rio?

I have speculated that negotiations to fund Alpala are underway. This could potentially explain delays to the PFS but why delay Porvenir announcements and drilling Rio?

To explain all the delays, you would have to assume negotiations concern all operations of SOLG and not just Alpala. Alternatively, the negotiating parties would have to be concerned that releasing additional information on the assets would attract competing interest.

The news blackout suggests the negotiations are not just on Alpala but the whole of SOLG. Could this be a strategic partnership? Could it be listing the exploration subsidiaries? Could it be a range of JV's? Is it the long-expected bid for SOLG?

None of us know but there is clearly something happening.

I agree, lose of confidence. A good time to pick up cheap before the big boys do.
Imo bumper news delivery being saved for the AGM, that's why I bought in a few weeks back. It would take this on nicely if it got near 40p first.

Some people did not like me saying I would not be making any votes until news arrives, but how patient are we expected to be...Nick says he will look after Private Investors, but the share price is drifting...and drifting...despite copper hitting $3.50 today for the first time in 7.1/2 years...

We're being played...

No news whatsoever since 4 November on any Regional Exploration...

Despite this on 13 August re La Hueca...108 days ago...

Drilling operations underway at La Hueca Project utilising one man-portable drill rig. Initial drill hole LHD-20-001 at current depth of 91m.

On 30 September re PFS...60 days ago...

PFS delayed for 2 to 3 weeks...

And this on 3 October re Blanca...57 days ago...

SolGold has received all regulatory licencing approvals to begin scout drilling at the Cerro Quiroz Target.
A man-portable drill rig arrived at Cerro Quiroz on 3rd October 2020, as drilling crews prepare to recommence drilling

And this on 8 October...52 days ago...

Drill rig preparing to mobilise to Rio Amarillo to commence an initial 8000m Phase 1 Drilling Program. Completion of all regulatory permitting and camp facilities now supported by finalisation of drill rig fit-out, with mobilisation of the first drill rig planned for late-October.

And this on 4 November...25 days ago...

Remaining assay results for PDH-20-001 are expected later this month...

Erosion of confidence Arcadian ? - Are you the sort who wants to puff regardless ? Regardless whether others are induced to follow your puffs and so lose their dosh ?
Too much of that on these boards (including posters who have contrary posts deleted). Its why most AIM punters lose.
The fact is something has suddenly changed. - Publication of NM's 'probable' intention to dilute. Why else require such a big increase in authorised capital ? If he wanted to be ready for some unanticipated major development he could meet it through an EGM at the time ,when shareholders would know why. As it is, he can serially dilute almost by stealth.

Arcadian, not at all. It's always important to see both the strengths and weaknesses of an investment. The issues highlighted by DD are not new. The difference is we are now at the crossroads and a path needs to be taken.

I don`t know. I`ll just wait and see but how long should I give them? I think until PORday.

PS Is our discussion of DD`s post having the effect that he may have intended-- the erosion of confidence in the company.?

Arcadian, it's not our job to manage the changing circumstances and pressures. That's what we pay the Board to do. How many times have we been told they will deliver in a couple of weeks only to be waiting months? If the Board can't see 2 weeks ahead, how can we trust them to see 5 years ahead?

I once had a million but let them go to favour Solg.

Tried to get MK to return but no reply

Maybe it`s because their world is moving faster than those of the shareholders and we do not always appreciate their changing circumstances, relationships and pressures.

Rouge - succintly put.
And it all boils down to NM believing he is another "Fortescue" in the making...as 'Twiggy (The CEO) is his Idol.
Solg are moving at caterpillar pace towards Production and half hoping they get JV'd or taken out whereas GGP have stayed loyal to their brand: Explorer and discovery...sell then move on quickly!
Look at the difference it makes...remember that guys.

Solgold commenced drilling at Cascabel in September 2013...Newcrest bought a stake in October 2016...BHP bought a stake in October 2018...Solgold still holds 85% of Cascabel and 100% of Porvenir...Rio Amarillo...Blanca...La Hueva...and 70 odd other prospects as the biggest concession holder in Ecuador...

MCap now £723 million

Greatland started drilling Havieron in April 2018...Newcrest signed a farm in agreement in March 2019 which could lead to GGP owning only 25% of Havieron...

MCap now £1 BILLION...

Who's managed the company and the news better? Mather or Heddle?

And no...I've never held shares in GGP (more's the pity...)

You are the voice of reason and that's appreciated.

I get emotional about my stocks so I tend to look to others to inject a degree of analytical substance and clarity

Thanks, appreciated

Loganair, the main issue isn't that we expect constant updates and progress. It is that we are promised items by SOLG and they fail to deliver on those promises. It has been a constant failing for the Company. Remember when the original CGP bid was only waiting on a French translation?

I would much rather they published extended timelines which they actually met than short timelines which they never meet. Confidence pays a big part in the share price and one of the few ways SOLG can earn confidence is through consistent on-time delivery.

Hi Loganair...

Nick Mather was appointed to the Board in 2005...(15 years ago)

Solgold debuted on the London Stock Market in February 2006...(14 years ago)

It was drilling in Guadalcanal in April 2006...(14 years ago)

The Cascabel Letter of Intent was signed in April 2012 (8 years 8 months ago)...

Is that long enough for you...?

Thanks DD, our actual path will start to become clear over the next 6 months. I trust Nick and the Board to take a sensible path. I don't believe we need to warn them against dilution, they are sensible enough to already know.

I agree. This does make sense and on here it has a lot of support including DD

FWIW, I still believe that Option 2 is currently underway. BHP and NCM do not want SOLG entering into a conditional financing package which minimises their involvement. The CFP was due to be published alongside the PFS. I believe the delayed publication is due to those negotiations taking place.

Over the years I've noticed how so many Retail Investors are so impatient when it comes to junior miners, often expecting updates monthly and when updates come expecting the miner to have made far more progress then they actually have.

I look upon investing in a junior miner as a 7 to 10 year investment and therefore after making an investment sit back and relax over the coming next few years.

LT,

For the sake of balance, maybe I should have added that I think Solg exploration RNSs are admirable: full of information with detailed explanations, quality graphics and photos. Much appreciated by this shareholder. Just can't get enough of them!
