PEBBLE DEPOSIT, ALASKA [Ranked NO 1 in the World]
"Pebble is one of the LARGEST copper discoveries in the WORLD ALTHOUGH the ORE BODY C O N T A I N S L E S S T HAN 1% COPPER BY VOLUME."
hxxps://www.mining-technology.com/projects/pebble-project-alaska/

As I said earlier, it is norm and known that porphyries in general do NOT have high grades for the MAIN ORE BODY. That is proof from Mining-Technology that covers the specifics for deposits. It is about SIZE and resultant volume = huge amounts. A deposit can have very high grades but with intersections like 10-50m, it will NOT be huge in terms of tonnage, size and resultant CONTAINED COPPER or gold. Hence, why LONG INTERSECTIONS OF 900m-1500m are world class and one can see some of the Alpala holes ranked in the world rankings per their presentation which I have given a link to earlier with the grades stated for each of those holes.

As in the past, there is no doubt that there will be further comments from industry or other commentators in due time.

It was the same for Alpala and it will be the same for Porvenir. Even Havieron was the same. People said it was not good enough Hole 1-9 for a JV and it must get a JORC etc.
Shortly after Hole 9, the Newcrest JV came out of the blue.

Some of the further holes 6-9 from Havieron were not as spectacular as some of the other holes but there can never be just 1 grade for ALL holes. Later, it proved correct as Newcrest, Australian press ALL could read grades and COMPOSITE average that is needed NOT JUST 1 SPECTACULAR HOLE.

Alpala has been described as the largest undeveloped, not for no good reason as per recent Mining.com article re: BHP with mention about Cascabel [Alpala]/

So, time will tell AND PROVE all things.

Those who have been following SOLGOLD*S ALPALA OR GGP*S HAVIERON will know that this is the case, as proven by empirical experience of what happened, stage by stage and the comments.

Do people remember Solgold - one day the RNS came out that Newcrest had bought in and it shot up to 6p. Newcrest bought again and then BHP came in to offer to buy 70% of Solgold*s 85% share of ENSA. At this stage when BHP came in, Solgold*s Alpala was only at Hole 17. So, obviously, it is PROOF that industry can read results given that Newcrest*s buying in was much earlier than Hole 17. At Hole 17, it had not even reached MINIMUM for a Maiden Resource said by Dr Rohlach to need 18-23 holes at least. But the people obviously did not understand the results of Alpala? Eeeer, isnt wanting 70% of ENSA out of Solgold*s 85% a BUY-IN OR BUY OUT? of Alpala by BHP, leaving Solgold as only a MINORITY owner and losing CONTROL AS OPERATOR? Operators want a 51% share of a project to be able to have control? Buy-in or Buy-out AT HOLE 17 !?

#27064 Answer:

My post on ADVFN Solgold: " #27037 N.Mather in the latest Red Cloud presentation said P R O V E N I R is B I G G E R than Alpala [pls check.]

The HINT is there ie COMPARATIVE TO ALPALA.

As such if the GRADES come out on average like Alpala , that would be a good start."

I also gave average grades of Alpala and it has come in SPOT on except that Porvenir*s Hole 1 assay [1st section] is indeed slightly higher than Alpala [main body]

So, N.Mather*s description is about SIZE and comparative is to Alpala.

My post last night #27037 was dated 3 Nov 2020 at 20:15

It was posted to MANAGE EXPECTATIONS.

J.L Wed, 4 Nov 2020 9:52am. [Solgold RNS, Hole 1 part assay results]

P.S. It is not possible that the Chief Geo did not do XRF readings on the Porvenir Hole 1 assays as it would be to check in case the assay results are a bit wrong. I recall once that Dr Steve Garwin corrected some assays from the lab for Alpala. However, they can NEVER give predictions of grades for obvious reasons.

However, for Alpala, from Day 1, Solgold*s presentation/s gave tonnage of 1-2bn at 1.4%cu equiv. The final MRE#3 is just over 2bn tonnes and the high grade zone is 1.4% cu equiv. However, due to being listed on TSX, they no longer can give such info out as they did when it was London-listed only.

Even conceptual financials had to be taken down from the Solgold presentation for Alpala. Again, same reason due to Canadian rules.

However, one cannot guarantee as for all things.

Majors are looking for SIZE with the attendant grades common for porphyries?

P.S. THE PICS OF THE CORES TELLS THE STORY.

Do the assays confirm Mather's pre-assay predictions? If they do then that may suggest any future predictions by Mather may be a positive indicator of actual assays when formally released to the market

What do we know from today's announcement that we did not know yesterday?

The answer is very straightforward, we know the assay grades from the first 580m of drilling. We already new it was large, we already new it started at 15m, we had already been given indicative grades by SOLG.

The impact to today's share price comes from having independently assessed grades, how those compare to the previous indicative grades and what the market expected the assay results to say.

In terms of the market reaction, it is still too early to tell with any certainty but it has not led to a sudden surge in the price. I suspect that the market had unrealistically expected better grades than those previously indicated by SOLG. Hence, the positive impact from having independently assessed grades is offset by expectations being brought back to reality.

Over the coming weeks, we will get additional evidence on the size of the resource, the grades, the quality of the core, whether it is suitable for open pit, availability of infrastructure etc.

Like others here, I do believe Porvenir is a larger and more valuable resource than Alpala but today's announcement is just one-step on the journey to proving that. At the moment, Porvenir reflects around 1/3 the price of Alpala. As evidence becomes available to prove it is more valuable than Alpala, that will be reflected in the SOLG share price. In my view, we will have sufficient evidence to prove that by end Q1

My Comment:
"Visual MINERALISATION encountered s o f a r." So, visual mineralisation!?

More news to come on PFS & Funding Update, Rio Amarillo drill, La Blanca drill, La Hueca drill and Rig 2 for Hole 3 at Porvenir to test the CORE & ROOT of the system plus other news.

J.London post:Last night #27037 3 Nov 2020 "Porvenir at 0.68% cu equiv.re: main body at Alpala."

Solgold RNS: Porvenir Assay results for Hole1: "580m @0.69% cu equiv."
[Top section with more to come as Hole 1 reached 900m. Hole 1 is at the Eastern periphery]. The rest to come this month.

Nick Mather: "The assay results so far for the 1st hole at Porvenir are highly encouraging, indicating a LARGE AND COMPLEX M I N E R A L I S I N G gold copper porphyry system. IN COMPARISON TO the 1st hole at Alpala, the Cacharposa target at Porvenir presents LONGER & BETTER RESULTS, an excellent start to the Porvenir campaign." [From RNS today, Wed, 4 Nov 2020]

My Comment:

I posted last night to manage expectations. From what Mather said, it is indicative of a large and complex mineralising gold copper porphyry system and is better than Hole 1 of Alpala ie longer and better results.

Low .. talk about negative .

We are probably looking at another tier 1 which is larger than Alpala .

What more do you want .

Straight into pay dirt without having to drill deep down before you hit paydirt .. saves a fortune .

Looks like the market are going to send us down again . I give up . Will hold my shares and wait for commonsense to come back to this share .

There is a lot of talk about this being open pit. Great if it is. Word of caution, Porvenir is on the edge of a national forest, whether an open pit would be allowed is a decision for the future. Today's announcement is about the grades.

Post 27037 from JL last night was spot on .
Go back and have a read .

The guys good .

So looks like another tier 1 which can be mined as an open pit . Maybe we can get this into production before Alpala which mine would you want to start first . ?

Sell off Alpala and start production at Porvenir pending confirmatuon of the up and coming results .
