11/11/2022 07:26 | Reference my pencilled target of 350 by April/May. This could well be unduly cautious as 300 looks well and truly broken with a further rise today a possibility. | buyzantium
10/11/2022 12:12 | Buyers slowly getting the upper hand ? | buyzantium
10/11/2022 11:32 | Classic reverse head and shoulders pattern since July with a neckline at 300. Target pencilled in - 350 by April/May once 300 becomes support line. | buyzantium
07/11/2022 16:03 | Regarding the strike action, looks like wages only make up around 20% of total costs (and assume UK makes up only part of their workforce, although not sure the exact proportion). In any event shouldn't prove too costly if they have to give the UK workers a bit of a pay rise. | riverman77
07/11/2022 13:24 | 300 will see inevitable selling by short term traders but if broken and held the prospects for steady improvement are very promising. | buyzantium
07/11/2022 10:54 | the wealth oracle report will not open in google (yes, I replaced the x's with t's) Is the report too long to post in full? | petersinthemarket
27/10/2022 22:16 | Interesting to see how the Amazon results impact on SMDS tomorrow, that’s quite a fall off in business estimated and if they’re suffering so must others be? | warranty
19/10/2022 11:35 | I'd expect the company to make an improved offer, to replace the present lousy one. | pughman

16/10/2022 07:29 | On my watchlist - no current position MIDAS SHARE TIPS As we all try to be greener in our everyday lives, pioneering packaging companies such as DS Smith are cashing in Midas verdict: More of what we buy from supermarkets is plastic-free. That's good news for businesses like DS Smith, as the recent update shows. The only question is how far food businesses are willing to take this trend, and how much they, and consumers, are willing to pay for innovative packaging. In a recession we buy less stuff, so there's less need for the packaging to put round that stuff – so DS Smith will suffer. But there's much to be excited about in the group's trading update, which led to analysts upgrading the stock by 10% in terms of profits. Despite strong figures and good prospects, DS Smith is still failing to excite the market. The shares are down nearly a third since January, and although the unexpectedly positive update lifted them slightly earlier in the week, they are still far lower than in recent years. As the dust settles, the company may find itself in favour once again. The shares are now very cheap on some measures, as they trade on just seven times forward earnings and yield 5.5%. It's worth boxing clever and picking up a few. | masurenguy
15/10/2022 07:18 | Just reading about strike ballot being held Will hold as in at good level but very wary due to shambles in government at this moment in time but will look to sell if can just reach a decent level Not looking long term on any share at moment Have sold nearly all my holdings put into trackers Good luck everyone | jubberjim

10/10/2022 11:19 | DS Smith issued a positive trading statement this morning, trading continues to be very good and consistent with the trends described in the Group’s AGM trading statement. Management now expect adjusted operating profit for the half year to 31 October 2022 of at least £400 million with strong cash generation and progress against all key financial ratios. Overall performance for FY22 is expected to be ahead of previous expectations, primarily driven by very strong revenue growth. Meanwhile valuation is now very attractive and the balance sheet increasingly strong. The macro environment is the obvious cloud here, share price also lacks momentum and is roughly flat through H2. DS Smith is a very good company to own for the medium and longer run and at a very attractive price. Certainly worth monitoring for now... ...from WealthOracle hxxps://wealthoracle | kalai1
10/10/2022 09:54 | Better than impressed What with all the turmoil in insurance shares swapped a few of my lgen into this little darling picked up the dividend sold and went again at 240 Is my favourite share at moment I needed one the rest are all underwater | jubberjim
10/10/2022 08:28 | This company continues to impress me. A better update than I expected and justifies a valuation far above where it is currently, even allowing for all the macro misery, IMO. | lovewinshatelosses
10/10/2022 06:09 | 10 October 2022 DS Smith Plc - trading statement DS Smith Plc ("DS Smith") today issues a trading update. Trading continues to be very good and consistent with the trends described in our AGM trading statement. We now expect adjusted operating profit for the half year to 31 October 2022 of at least GBP400 million with strong cash generation and progress against all our key financial ratios. Accordingly, overall performance for the current full financial year is expected to be ahead of our previous expectations. Revenue growth has been very strong which, together with effective cost mitigation, has driven the improved profitability, despite slightly lower like for like corrugated box volumes. Miles Roberts, Group Chief Executive, said: "I am very pleased with the performance in the year to date and the momentum in our business. We remain focussed on delivering for our customers and managing our costs in an inflationary environment. While the macro-economic outlook remains uncertain, performance this year is ahead of our previous expectations and we look forward to the remainder of the year with confidence | bigbigdave |
