04/5/2017 11:43 | blindsquirrel, Prior to the fundraising there were around 2.4bn shares in circulation. Another 1.6bn were made through the institutional fundraising and the open offer. This took the total to 4bn. The $400m in convertible bonds are in addition to that figure and equates to around another 1.2bn new shares. If all were converted tomorrow this would result in a dilution of around 20% for current holders. Before everyone starts throwing themselves off a cliff at Whitby it's important to remember the bond holders are getting 8.5% interest until 2023. They can still buy shares then, at todays prices, so have little to gain by converting now as long as they see a rosy future for Sirius. Todays announcement is for 1.3m shares which is around half a million bucks out of a total of $400m. I think the crowd at Whitby can safely disperse for the time being. PPVN has given figures for what COULD be happening and his figures are near enough spot on. However, it is a theory which has no evidence to back it up. If anyone followed through on the theory they would make 8.5% on their investment which they had already recouped but, when it came to conversion day, they would forfeit all their shares to settle their short. If the shares were trading at the figures analysts are suggesting (£1 - £3) there would be a long line of institutional investors looking for a nearby cliff. PS. Apologies to residents of Whitby if there is not a cliff. Sadly, I have never been to verify either way so my scenario is also theoretical. All IMHO NMRN | not my real name
04/5/2017 11:39 | There seem to be few posters here Jane that are genuine or open..... of course that is totally my own opinion but a few minutes reading back will show you how they change stance and how they will again when it gets to about 25p or what ever their target might be...... | hazl
04/5/2017 10:45 | Holding shares in some companies can be like Being a member of a cult! In sxx case John being your leader lol! No seriously if you don't take open minded view when holding shares it nearly always ends in tears or worse jumping from a very tall building. | dp1umb
04/5/2017 10:36 | NMRN, Was the $400million bonds value reflected in the market cap of Sirius as is shown on the factsheet on my broker website(HL)? And is there suddenly more shares in issue? If so I would expect that the shares are worth less than before or will the market cap of the company rise? I prefer your possibility that the bond holder thinks they can make more from shares than bonds :) ( I hold 70,000) | blindsquirrel
04/5/2017 10:30 | Pumped n dumped again. So many suckers out there. | astjgroom

04/5/2017 09:51 | janekane, What does that say about "most of the posters?" ;-) NMRN | not my real name
04/5/2017 09:49 | @janekane - see NMRN post above yours. Short term it has depressed the share price but medium and long term it should allow the share price to rise without there being the possibility of the CLNs being converted - it removes an unknown, which is good. | filster
04/5/2017 09:49 | NMRN Thanks,very helpful. | blindsquirrel |
