The company has demonstrated that the small investors are not important via the debilitating consolidation....any hope of achieving a decent return in the near term has evaporated IMHO considering what the share price has to hit to deliver a return ie £10.00 post consolidation

If I am a 'punter' looky then please refrain from tagging short term in the same sentence. I am anything but and I have a significant LT position in these going back over 7 years! Some punt that turns out to be. Eagle

I tend to agree looky.
SLN needs a full listing if it to be taken seriously.

If consolidation equals credibility then there are a lot of credible AIM companies that have slipped back to being penny shares.

I do not buy the credibility angle, but if you are right and any slippage post consolidation is temporary then it is of no importance to investors and an opportunity for traders. Time will tell ;-)

Totally disagree. If SLN is going to make it it is not going to get there as a penny share. It needs credibility and AIM does little to provide this at the moment. Therefore SLN needs a full listing and i think this is the first step. So many institutions are heavily restricted on investing on AIM (size of investment, % of any coy, % of fund in AIM coys etc) and i am sure this is the feedback they got on this fundraising. Whilst it may cause a short term issue, the longer term benefits of access to capital, share liquidity, tracker fund exposure etc far outweigh the short term issues of a few punters selling the stock. If it fails it would have on AIM aswell.

It seems SLN are potentially in a sweet spot!

It is arrogance at Board level- they simply do not like being a penny share.

It will further erode shareholder value, and their perceived gains such as status in the city from being a £ share simply will not materialise.

Perhaps a wee e mail to the co stating these points may be a good idea.

Maybe I am being a little pessimistic here, but I work away from home just read this and kind of missed the boat on this announcement. I don't like the 50-1 consolidation as it taxes me 10% before we start.

If I had sold at 4.5p and used the funds to buy back at the 200p new price point, I'd be roughly 10% better off! Thanks Mr Eagle for your continued loyalty over the past 7 years, we'll trim the last bit of fat of that bone thank you very much!

I hope I am proved wrong, but others have suggested a 50-1 is to much at this stage and whatever anyone says, it's easier to drive the price up from a low base of 30 to 40p, than from a 200p position.

I am not happy with the company for a change! What can I do, it is a done deal?

Why not dual list? The competition is valued at $1.5B we have some way to go Personally I would encourage everyone to look at the RNS in March when the Co made it clear their plans. They will have £28M in cash & going forward hard in more than one front Personally I think the share has a lot more going for it than it has for a very long time Also don't forget we are due a milestone payment which could lift us to having £100m cash. IMO I like this & OK shame they had to issue placing @ 4p but hey can u remember the share price just 9 months ago. Don't be so glum chums I like this strategy a lot!!! GLAH

I think the BOD are confusing the UK market with the states unless they intend to list over there as well. This is the only thing I can see that will support this massive over reactive move!

A 10-1 / 20-1 consolidation would have been a better initial move for extra credability which I guess would have still encouraged ii to invest as well as kept interest with pi.

These guys really do mean business but I think they have gone a stride to far and fast at this stage.

Surely the share price figure itself is far less relevant than value-driving events. Progress and positive news will propel this forwards. My only worry is that the timescales of preclin and clin development do not lend themselves well to a series of value creating events in the near to medium term.

I struggle to see how the 50 to 1 consolidation is good for holders. A share at a price of 4p moves more easily to 20p even with a large number of shares in circulation, than a share moving from 2.00 pounds to 10 pounds.

When our shares are priced at 2.00 but the number of shares we hold are reduced to 1 for each 50 held, this is a share that for holders looking to at best break even it is a pipe dream.

As a holder myself disappointed if anyone knows of reason to see it different I be delighted to read it.

Oh dear. The ego of being a £ share instead of a penny share all too often is followed by a strong slide in share price post consolidation.

Will be interesting to see how this behaves if there is no news after consolidation.

That explains a lot in respect of the share price movement over the past few weeks.
As waterloo01 has posted this is a massive vote of confidence in RNAI and SLN in particular.
