05/8/2020 19:28 | An oral alternative that is derisked and as effective as IV delivery for the worlds most common deficiency I’ll take my chances here | peachie 74
05/8/2020 19:26 | What do people think Tim and the rest of the new team are doing. All day everyday !?!? Even the old CEO with a massive interest in STX is still around pushing this. Like NYBoy used to say ...Tick tock ! | peachie 74
05/8/2020 18:41 | >> lako To make a comment like that means you don't understand this company. Maybe not the best investment for you... | nobbygnome
05/8/2020 17:59 | Fair point both. If we had a more significant cash runway then I would be less cautious. That is the risk. | lako42
05/8/2020 17:10 | Agreed shandypants2. And Shield are not "distressed sellers" - they can afford to take their time to get the best deal. Tim Watts said they'd had interest from approaching 100 companies in the US. Imagine how long it takes to sort through that many potential proposals, then start negotiations for what is quite a complex agreement spanning a potential 15 year period. | whatno
05/8/2020 16:53 | Exactly whatno - we've found the gold/oil (FDA approval) we just need to sell it now. For a small pharma this is about as de-risked as an AIM investment can be | shandypants2
05/8/2020 16:48 | "If all are honest this type of investment is the nearest thing to common gambling that you can get (oil and gold minors excluded)" - I wouldn't agree with that. I fully admit that pharma/bio can be risky and certainly basing an investment on the assumption of success in a clinical trial or the granting of marketing approval can be extremely costly when things don't go to plan. I won't risk my money in that way. Sealing a commercial deal for an FDA approved drug does not have the same risk profile. There will always be a deal to be had, it's just going to about the best commercial terms that can be extracted from the licensee. | whatno
05/8/2020 16:13 | 23rd Sep is my personal time fence for this for obvious reasons. If there is a concrete and understandable reason for delay that is communicated by the company then I may re-evaluate. No comms and no deal means goodbye. If all are honest this type of investment is the nearest thing to common gambling that you can get (oil and gold minors excluded) | lako42
05/8/2020 13:27 | Best .... I’ve been here quite along time TBF ! If you’ve had enough though , sell ! | peachie 74
05/8/2020 13:18 | Agteed, it should be the largest deal they sign. STX have stated there has been alot of interest which in itself means there are mamy more options to explore, all of which takes time. | onceaday
05/8/2020 12:27 | to reinforce Peachies point did you see REDX yesterday. Went up c300% at one point and is now valued at over £100m based on a deal it signed with Astra Zeneca. $17m upfront and upto £360m in milestones payments. Now i am definitely not saying US deal will have the same impact on STX, it is a larger company for a start, but deal , if similar to Europe and China, will have an upfront payment, additional milestone payments plus royalties. FinnCap has estimate upfront could be as high as $50m and milestones c$100m. Even if we only get say 80% of quoted figures as none of this appears to be factored into share price, or current broker estimates, this will have a transformational impact on the share price. IMHO i will be surprised if we don't have a minimum 50% increase when RNS drops. It is frustrating to see MMs drop the share price almost daily on small volunes but we know this can move quickly. Keep the faith!!! | shandypants2
05/8/2020 12:20 | LOL. Fair enough I will give them until Sept 23rd! Good to see the intraday reversal today. | nobbygnome
05/8/2020 12:03 | According to Google, summer ends on Sepr 23rd... | onceaday
05/8/2020 11:33 | And to be clear I won't be overly concerned if it spills over into September but anything beyond that would worry me. | nobbygnome
05/8/2020 11:31 | >> best I am a long termer and for now I am taking the company on its word. The last presentation said 'Summer' and there is 26 days left of Summer as I see it. Therein lies the opportunity if you are optimistic about a deal as I am! | nobbygnome
05/8/2020 11:27 | Peachie Think that comment can only apply to those recently invested us long term holders have been waiting a reasonable amount of time so surely a margin on frustration is warranted | best1467
05/8/2020 09:43 | Agreed. People lacking patience IMO. I can see why, but that’s the way with shares. Often when confidence is at its lowest and people are questioning the investment ( like myself in SNG ) big news drops. We will see and time will tell. And this drops on tiny volume.....but can rise in the same way. Big volumes on news will make things interesting ! | peachie 74
05/8/2020 07:07 | Morning all - see you tomorrow! Yawn. | daveboy1
04/8/2020 14:43 | One trade, last call | bobaxe1
04/8/2020 11:39 | Agreed lako. This drip drip down every day after a small rise is not exactly reassuring - quite disappointing in fact. | daveboy1
04/8/2020 09:19 | The best thing to do here is set your own time fence for when news should land. If it doesn't then move on. Cash runway dictates as much. | lako42
03/8/2020 22:05 | I stand corrected :-) I think you grasp my point, whatever the CEO says, it will the partner that decides on timing, especially if they are undertaking significant due dilligence. This is borne out by the fact that the date has slipped twice already. I have a fairly chunky investment in STX (at least for me) so I'm definitely not trying to talk anything down. They have a drug with excellent commercial potential so partnering is a no brainer. | whatno
03/8/2020 00:04 | Before any deal is signed best response you would get is either along the lines of (a) we are still in discussions with a number of interest parties (deal coming) or (b) we are reviewing our strategic options (no deal) | coxypete |
