22/7/2019 21:33 | My personal target is around 170p which was the level for quite a while at the time the company floated before the negative trial which never was! So it is based on TA not some deep analysis of the possible market for Feraccru which is pointless at this stage IMHO. Of course shortly after approval there will be the license agreement so plenty to look forward to. | ![]() nobbygnome
22/7/2019 20:37 | Whats the intended target price on FDA approval? | sharestobuy
22/7/2019 15:12 | Doesn’t really matter whether the share price is 80 or 130, if fda approves the share price will rocket. We could easily get last min buying by Friday I guess mostly due to summer hols and light vols. Tick, tock! | ![]() ny boy

21/7/2019 23:17 | Thanks for the replies. Active Iron is certainly marketed as an oral iron supplement and not as a medicine to tackle irritable bowel disease IBD or other indications ... Legal Disclaimer Statements regarding dietary supplements have not been evaluated by the FDA and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition. Solvotrin claim to have a clinical programme for Active Iron but it is obviously some years behind Feraccru in this respect ... Solvotrin has an active clinical development programme studying the efficacy and tolerability of Active Iron in people with an Intolerance to oral iron. In collaboration with multinational partners, these studies will be continued and extended to include patient groups with anaemia of chronic disease, for example Chronic Kidney Disease. Solvotrin has a business strategy of compete with other oral iron supplements, gain market share and revenue via retail channels such as Boots, Lloyds Pharmacy and Holland & Barrett and subsequently fund a clinical programme. STX have a different approach of investor funding of clinical trials first, followed by prescription based marketing and sales at a premium price. It will be interesting to see progress in the STX H1 2019 business update due this week. | ![]() borromini1
21/7/2019 16:36 | No placebo controlled trial to prove it works and no review to prove it has controlled consistent manufacture. I doubt very much it would be recommended by any US physician as they are so worried about litigation. FDA approval is worth a massive amount.... | ![]() nobbygnome
21/7/2019 16:32 | More frantic googling..... | ![]() nobbygnome
21/7/2019 15:35 | I’m inclined to believe that being prescription only would help the perceived efficacy of Feraccru. It will be the only prescription oral iron. Most people have insurance so that would pay for it. | crankyman
21/7/2019 09:24 | Active Iron High Potency $25 for 60 capsules from Amazon in USA. Cost per unit 42 cents. No doctor’s visit or prescription required as this is registered with the FDA and classified as a food supplement. Each capsule contains 25g Iron and recommended dosage is up to 2 per day before being advised to consult a physician. Active Iron High Potency can deliver 50g of Iron per day to the small intestine. Active Iron was developed at Trinity College Dublin and is being commercialised by Solvotrin Therapeautics, currently a privately held Irish company. Active Iron’s advanced protein formulation is non-irritating to the stomach and does not cause inflammation preventing unwanted side-effects such as stomach pain, cramp, sickness, constipation and flatulence. Feraccru is priced at £47.50 for 56 capsules each containing 30g iron. Cost per unit 85p or $1.06, that is 2.5 times the cost of Active Iron in the USA. What is the value of FDA approval when over the counter or online food supplements can deliver 50g of Iron per day to the small intestine? Are USA physicians only allowed to prescribe FDA approved medicines and not allowed to advice patients to take food supplements such as Active Iron? If one has to pay a doctor to get access to Feraccru does that increase the cost and inconvenience for USA access compared to over the counter or online purchase of Active Iron? | ![]() borromini1

20/7/2019 10:26 | Probably a planted review... I see there is some frantic googling going on to pick out anything even vaguely negative you can trawl up. On the contrary the positives are staring you in the face but for some strange reason you don't want to see those! | ![]() nobbygnome
20/7/2019 10:02 | Amazon review for Active Iron ... Active Iron High Potency $25 for 60 capsules O'Driscoll Family 5.0 out of 5 stars More energy, better sleep June 24, 2019 Verified Purchase I have been battling an iron deficiency for many years (and adrenal fatigue) but could never take iron supplements for more than a few days as they always upset my stomach too much. I have been using Active Iron for over a month now and can't believe how good I feel. My energy is better than ever with no stomach complaints. I am also sleeping much better. Highly recommend. | ![]() borromini1
19/7/2019 22:56 | The FDA decision is massive. But yes , the real action happens after. If approval given , will be very interesting how long it takes before they announce any licensing deal and the money involved. Then China Children trials PT20 The real profit won’t be in the value straight after FDA announcement. Hoping it’s positive obviously ! | ![]() peachie 74
19/7/2019 22:13 | Yes Nobby, all true and I agree, but the MMs will be rubbing their hands together and thinking with all that news coming there will be lots of opportunity for rises and falls and hence profit along the way. The traders will be trying to judge the best entry and exit points and the value investors will hopefully be observing that the overall trend is going up. Let's hope we all do well. | stevee1234
19/7/2019 19:07 | I don't disagree with what you say. And just a reminder that the approval (assuming we get it) is not the end of the news in the very short term as the company has promised that a licensing deal will follow on very close behind. So I don't agree with whoever said that there will be massive profit taking on the day of approval. If they sign a stonking deal a week later with a good upfront payment, those sellers will be missing out on another rise. Oh and then there will be a licensing deal in China and maybe other markets to come later in the year.... | ![]() nobbygnome
19/7/2019 15:30 | Hi Nobby, yes agree more buys recently, maybe we're about as low as it gets before more buyers stop the drop. I'm just trying to explain why I believe the share price has moved as it has over the last three weeks. It's a question of "do sellers prompt the share price to drop" or "do price drops prompt holders to sell" obviously a bit of both but on AIM I think the MMs know that when a share has had a good run recently dropping the price can often stimulate profit taking and hence allow them to get some shares back ready for the next upward step. I believe people are more motivated to buy when the chare price rises and sell when the share price falls, hence when stx stalled at 120ish they have been progressively stimulating the market by dropping the price, hopefully in coming weeks they'll be stimulating the market by raising the price. Still as I said everything crossed for the main event hopefully soon. | stevee1234
19/7/2019 13:15 | But there are a lot more buys than sells today so they are apparently emptying their 'war chest'. There was one day where there were quite a few sellers but my feeling is that there have been net buys in the last week at least from the trades we can see. | ![]() nobbygnome
19/7/2019 13:11 | I suspect the price movement is fairly standard MM strategy. Prior to the news they are trying to amass a war chest of shares bought as cheaply as possible. So they work the price down as best they can spooking some to sell whilst they are still in profit. The MM's strategy being to buy at low 100s and sell them back to the market at a substantially higher price in a few weeks. Anyway that's my reading of it. Personally I've been in quite a while and fingers and toes crossed for a good announcement soon. | stevee1234
19/7/2019 12:15 | Extensive quote came from either Prosctive investor website or Shields own, dependant on which you main. Definitely not out of thin air !!! | ![]() peachie 74
19/7/2019 11:04 | For me the frustration of knowing what is going on with MMs is summarised by the drop back to 104p just now. So we have had tens of thousands of buys with little rise....yet one 5k sell which they paid up 0.55p for and Winterfloods come off the bid! I am sure it all clear to them...but not for me! | ![]() nobbygnome
19/7/2019 11:01 | Active Iron. Abstract from the abstract of the study cited as clinical proof of efficacy: "Conclusions: Novel Iron-WP microspheres may protect gut epithelial cells and improve the absorption of iron versus FeSO4. Further evaluation of this approach to food fortification and supplementation with iron is warranted." The website does not provide a link to EMA or FDA approval information, nor claim to be a medicine. Post 1033. I too would be interested in the answer(s). | ![]() hashertu
19/7/2019 10:54 | Buyers are back, bargain hunters etc. Not long to go could be just before 27 Jul or just after, Monty reckons 01 August, any day is good for me, as long as it’s a big fat fda approval! | ![]() ny boy |
