Rather agree with that comment from #1779. Going xd just added some icing to the rumour.. Rather than 50:50 looks more like 75:25 in favour of BBJL's short.... at present!

Citywire has a story saying sab-miller is going to bid for SCTN - 6.5 Billion
(700p a share)...

Surprised? U bet I am, where the hell are sab going to get that kind of money?
(given they presently have net-debt of 12.5 billion) - nonetheless, I
wouldn't be surprised if they all pile in like lemmings on monday morning.

Wouldn't want to be short :-)

Never seems to be very much 'love' for bigbob around here....

although, I think recent comments by analysts which are negative
about the possibility of a bid are likely good news for longs - since if the say brokerage don't buy, it could easily mean they are getting ready for a bid and don't want the price to fly out of control....

nonetheless, I think if it doesn't happen there is plenty of time to short.

I do have reason to be unhappy though... Shame SCTN never quite dipped as low as my ptential top-up price of 514p however I even thought about doubling up as late as Tuesday for the dividend (switching out of TTG, where I am showing a 43% gain) :(

reminder for BLOBJOB: I bought SCTN at 388p :)
