While I have little doubt the deal will be signed off, it is plainly nonsense to say that not completing is not an option. It’s certainly not an option that SAVP will consider, nor any of us sane investors, but try telling the Nigerian government that they have no option but to agree the deal as not completing is not an option.

Having said that, if anybody thinks that when the chips are down it won’t, and hasn’t,involved discussion of a brown envelope, then you are truly naive.

My only concern is that now the new White Hart Lane Stadium is more or less finished (that’s what the signs on the lampposts called it) Daniel Levy may have been commissioned by the Nigerian government to negotiate the ‘arrangement fee’. He is the king of goalpost movers.

It's difficult to escape the conclusion that once this protracted Seven E deal is closed, there will be a torrent of news flow on the Niger assets, as well as plans for development of the integrated Nigerian assets separately.

The Nigeria process has certainly been drawn out but with all parties in agreement and stakeholders interests well defined it should simply be a matter of time before ministerial sign-off...For me the greater excitement is any news on Niger plans - both with respect to a potential farmout partner and the drilling plans for the next 6-12 months...Patience will ultimately be rewarded in my opinion, but I can totally understand that boredom and frustration at waiting has seen some capitulate and throw in the towel...All IMHO

So either this is free money.

Or Malcy is a gullible idiot.

Roll up, roll up.

Place your bets.

With thanks to Agadaem and Malcy.

Hi Malcy

I know we’ve exchanged views before but what’s your latest view on Savannah?

Regards
Xxxxx

Hi Xxxxx

Nothing has changed, final signatures etc as before and I am promised not completing is not an option. Having said that, like you I continue to feel that it has taken a long time but I am assured that is just the process which inevitably slowed during the elections.

Kind regards

Malcy

Agreed, but in fairness to HM, Malcy did advise news was imminent and he has his reputation to consider hence wouldn't have stated this unless it was the case.

Tongue in cheek question HM ? I doubt he word use the word ' imminent ' if this wasn't the case. AK was bullish the sign off would be concluded by end Q1, hence suggest Malcy giving a subtle ' nod and a wink ' lol it'll be announced pretty soon. Here's hoping plus news of Niger.

Yes, much better than it initially appeared.

A reflection on the lack of retail investors perhaps?

All off chasing DEB.

Hopefully some day soon.

When Malcy says minor delay, and, imminent completion.

Does anyone think he knows more than the rest of us?

Malcy :

Savannah Petroleum

Savannah has announced this morning that good progress is being made on the Seven Energy transaction and following completion of the Nigerian elections the company remains confident that Ministerial approval will be forthcoming shortly and the transaction will be completed in 2Q 2019.

The election has caused a minor delay with no fault to be allocated and the imminent completion along with an exciting programme in Niger bodes well for SAVP for the rest of the year.
