If the usual trend happens, then this will hit a new low again, i.e. below 40p

Pathetic the way the market is at the moment.

We are well undervalued at present with present company forecast of £105m to £120m being reiterated on the 19th of June at the AGM a PE of around 4 also the company has advised that 50% of profits will be paid as a dividend.

In the fullness of time I am sure we will recover.

First for the old folks who took up shares at IPO...the share price is decimated..then you give them the Goldman carrot!...

Checked all aspects here as have watched saga for a while. I wasn't impressed by the company pigeon-holing itself for oldies.....being a very active 65 yr old myself!
BUT.....having watched the (slow) progress, all the factors for change are now in place. The Saga brand is strong on ethics and confidence, divest the aging aspect...that is being done. Adverts and TV are really good, traction is visible in new offerings and the the first of two new cruise liners will lift the price on launch. The fact that Marcus give exposure to good, reliable savings on upto £100k is aimed perfectly at target audience. Biggest plus is that increasing number of solo female retirees trust Saga=safety. The market is there and the company now just sto reinforce security and confidence rather than age. On track and on course. With all the icebergs now behind the Saga vessel and good navigation skills I see calmer waters ahead and a bright horizon. Money where my mouth is I've just made a nice initial investment. Steady as she goes.

What do they mean by innovative and high- quality products?...I guess Goodmans can smell the old folks money sitting in accounts...

"This is an important strategic partnership for Saga that will help us provide innovative and high- quality products that will be designed not just to meet our customers' needs, but to exceed their expectations."

Well at least it’s a positive step. LB should still resign or be sacked though. If a lower employee made as many mistakes as he has they’d be off.

I already use Marcus bank and am well impressed with it easy to open and very secure but limit of only 100k for best interest rate .if they can improve this limit will use Saga for another account myself thanks for the information koetser.

Well done for your attempted pump koetser but if fear it's misconceived. Saga 'white label' a lot of services. Given the collapse in the share price and that Saga clients were invited to participate in the IPO, do you really think they going to be easily convinced to move over their life savings?

Saga, the over-50s insurance and travel company, is hoping to revive its fortunes in an unlikely alliance with Wall Street banking giant Goldman Sachs.

A deal between the retirement specialist and the US bank, dubbed the "great vampire squid" for its influence over the banking industry, is expected to be announced on Tuesday morning.

Saga chief Lance Batchelor said the group has signed a partnership with Goldman's savings arm Marcus, the online bank that launched in the UK late last year, as many of the group's customers "hold a large proportion of their wealth in savings".
