With the FCA ludicrously not declaring any shorts below 0.5% in this case no shorts are showing but I am sure Blackrock and GLG are still shorting this lurking just below the threshold at 0.49%.

Hope Lance Batchelor has cleared his office and packed his bags. 70% drop in share price since results and daily falls means he will almost certainly be booted out at the forthcoming AGM.

Even a chimpanzee could do a better job.

COMPLAINTS by two elderly pensioners to Saga over a Benidorm holiday hell that left them on the verge of a "mental breakdown" have had a surprising reward.

Betty Rickerby, 87, from Liverpool, and her pal Barbara Molloy, 75, have been given a free holiday to make it up to them.

The two women have been offered a two-week getaway to any of Saga’s holiday destinations.

They had been left shocked and upset when they had been sent by the holiday firm to a Benidorm hotel that was still undergoing refurbishment.

Betty, from Stoneycroft, reportedly, said: “I’m absolutely over the moon about it. Maybe our complaining has woken them up a bit.”

The getaway can serve as a birthday present for Betty, who turns 88 next week.

She continued: “They’ve really lived up to their name, I’ve gone with them for years and years.

“Maybe it was just a bad turn last time, I don’t know, but I do believe in second chances.”

The pair were eventually moved from a hotel that had continual building work going on, to another much better location.
Now Betty says they would be happy to go back to the second hotel.

She said: “That was a real five-star experience but we were so sick from stress and worry we barely had a chance to enjoy ourselves, so again would be like a bit of a do over for the both of us.”

Barbara, though, is not convinced about returning to Benidorm after her past experience.

They splashed out almost £4,000 and had to endure almost a month in a hotel where there was noise, dust and even a cement mixer parked outside.

Barbara said: “I’m not sure where we’ll be going but I’m so glad they did the right thing in the end, none of us like to complain but when you’ve spent so much money it’s the right thing to do.”

AGM 19th June. Who's going?
What sort of reception do Batchelor & Co expect from their shareholders?

Directors added at 60p but not at 40p - why?
Should not be in a closed period.

Saga marked the keel-laying of its second new boutique cruise ship for the British market, Spirit of Adventure, with a ceremony at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. The 999-passenger ship will set sail in summer 2020 and the keel laying marked the official start of construction.

One of the four specially celebrated events in a ship’s life (which also include launching, commissioning and decommissioning), the keel laying ceremony saw a commemorative coin stamped with Spirit of Adventure’s name, keel-laying date and the lettering S715 – denoting the identification marker for the ship during her build and until she is formally handed over to Saga in summer 2020 – placed under the first block in the dry dock. A total of 54 blocks will be used to create the 58,250 gross tons ship.

Speaking at the ceremony, CEO of Saga Travel Robert Shaw said: “These are exciting times for Saga and the occasion marks a key stage in the construction of our second new build cruise ship. Our decision to build two new boutique cruise ships, Spirit of Discovery and Spirit of Adventure for our guests heralds a new era in the history of Saga cruising.

“Both ships have been designed to epitomise Saga’s British boutique cruising concept and they are the first small, luxury ships to be built by a British company, for the British market, in more than four decades.”

He added: “Each of our new ships has been exclusively designed for the British market and we have incorporated luxury interiors to meet our past and present guests’ feedback. We are proud to be working with Meyer Werft again, and it will be an honour and a pleasure, to celebrate the delivery of this ship in summer 2020.”

The ceremony comes six days after Saga’s Spirit of Discovery completed its conveyance cruise.
