The trouble with the optimism about bookings is that the cruise operators have had to guarantee ease of cancellation.
This reassures customers and in effect gives them a no cost cancellation option on booking a cruise.

Not the same as being fully booked at all, bookings that can be cancelled at zero cost.

KEN CHEUNG - which hedge fund do you work for???? Clicking on the user name is hilarious. Looks like he has 5-10 scripted posts which are used over and over every day for various stocks he’d like to short. only appears when stocks have a spike down and then disappears. Just a little advice, TRY NOT TO MAKE YOURSELF SO OBVIOUS

The phizer vaccine only 33 percent effective on the elderly. No way will any sailings happen till September at the earliest, At that stage they might as well wait till 2022.Back to 2.50 we go.

"I wouldn't want to be aboard a plague ship."

That's why Saga are making vaccination and testing mandatory.

Currently Saga's PE is about 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(assuming normal years profits are about £180m)

This on the face of it is very cheap for what is basically an insurance company.

Point taken, Tewks - and you're right. But in my Eeaw moments I worry about the effect on the market of just one case of covid in any cruise ship. Currently thinking I might hold SAGA into the spring and then (hopefully) take profits before the ships sail.

So the facts.. Saga up 60p up since last Monday yet several idiots led by the world champion keyboard jockey all out of the woodwork on today’s drop of 20p+ which I predicted yesterday. So what? Lots of stocks getting pummelled today. If it had risen 1p a day every day since last Monday instead of big spikes we’d only be at £2.40 and all but one of these idiots would remain simply because he’s a stupidinvestor. Do I have to be over 50 to get it or is it available to anyone?

Yes but lockdowns and vaccination rollout will also have occured in destination countries, so things will look a lot better by May and June. Also SAGA will put in place risk mitigation measures for shore visits, e.g. ensuring people remain in the tour group instead of exploring alone, staying outdoors, wearing masks, hand sanitisation on return. All the passengers will have received their two jabs anyway, so low risk.

Let's hope so, Tewkesbury. We need all the positivity we can get. But, unfortunately, so we don't feel even worse later, we also need to be realistic.
