Saga cabins a damn site warmer and more draughts proof than many older homes. Throw in the care, attention, service and quality of food and a discount winter cruise starts to look very economically sensible.

Win win - go on a winter cruise as cheaper than staying at home had energy not been capped today by Truss. And now folks have £550 energy aid (£400 + £150 already handed out) and now a £1000 discount off their energy going forwards on top of the cash handout.....pays a big chunk of their winter cruise.

Canary Islands £170/day per person (with their discount offer)
Cost of staying at home (£35/day pp) need to add Oct energy cost (£136/day) plus food, say £10/day pp. So £181/day pp to stay at home, cruise to Canary Islands for 14 nights £170/day pp.

The Mail article is based on a 16 night cruise costing £1299, ie £80 per day. So how does this apply to Saga, where the per diem is a whopping £320?

Guess the new pm next week will be putting more cash into peoples pockets, one way or another, enough to take a nice winter cruise for a few months - be cheaper than heating your homes! (maybe)

I sold at 380p as soon as covid clearly became a terminal problem. I was a big supporter having bought in at 165p. It is horrible for holders and a good company (like NEX) is going through the mill.

Tom218 - I really think there is enough margin to cover the 3 year term and without needing the recruitment of new insurance clients so saving costs.
I am pretty sure the sums have been done to allow for a bit of inflation etc!
