Strike action by some confirmed today but that was always going to be the result anyway. Question is does it have an impact or get resolved ahead of the planned day??

Yeah but the problem is we have been here before recently.

I have sat on my hands recently but taken a few in Aviva and MNG. Not too sure here right now based on the IA news and my thoughts posted the other day.

Based on my thinking then I should expect a lower share price.

Action will be balloted for leading to a drop but if a deal is then struck and no action is taken then the price should rise. Buy the low when the strike action is announced then??

I think there will be a deal struck after the ballot results come in.

The company want's to see the results so it knows the level of support a walk out actually has. The last thing either side want is an actual walk out so this leads me to think some sort of deal can be struck.

Any thoughts?

Modernising a company such as Royal Mail is bound to result in fewer jobs.
but if it is not done then the opposition will in time drive you out of business.

Way back Murdoch was hated because he had to fight the print unions.
The typesetters were no longer needed, obsolete, it was all done digitally.
They were once an elite group of Fleet Street workers.
There are no typesetters anymore, a relic of the past.

The Railway workers are fighting to keep ticket offices open.
Somedays these expensive offices hardly make a single sale.
hoping a pensioner without a computer will pop in now and then.

Spanish practices in the car industry helped to kill many of them off.

Hoping RMG can come through this.

My recent buys at 271 and 278 are starting to look good. Shame about the majority though that came in the 3's!!

Good to see the positives so far today and lets hope we can end the week in the 280's

The oil/fuel price is a problem for Royal Mail.

But it will correct itself in time.
There is lots of oil about in the World and Russian oil will find itself to market.
Not so long ago the oil price was zero.

Now traders predict $150 plus.
They predicted $200 oil in the 1970's, because we would be running out.
Pause for laughter.

From climate change to oil prices they are always wrong.
The oil price will fall dramatically over the next 12 months.
