Think I'll wait to see what happens - Unite is preparing an industrial action ballot, which could see workers strike next month.

In at 340.
Think it could go lower short term but will average down if necessary as the divi is strong and growth in the share price will come again.

This has had nothing but negative news since the start of the Year and the shorting started.

Well done careful and I wish I had got in this morning now at 342!!

I think it has a good chance of recovering too but that drop this morning was quite a big one and certainly spooked me into doing nothing!!

just topped up today, these are undervalued.

I am guessing that within a few months we shall be drowning in oil and the price of fuel and inflation will fall. Both effect RMG sentiment.

Also hoping that the management can get a sensible wage settlement with CWU that is not too crippling to the business.
Never can RMG be accused of being P&O.

Thanks Mo123, 275p is quite a drop if it does indeed fall that far.

I will sit on the sidelines for a bit longer I think.

Do you have a link to that Mo123?

May have been tempted in earlier if I were around but would like to see what you are referring to first.

Yeah I am waiting on this one at sub 350p.

I think its unloved right now but not down and out. Good divi and upside eventually IMHO.

A ruthless culling of higher paid management jobs in recent times.
Against that, more difficult to improve operational side because of fear of CWU.

Undervalued, all the talk of RMG being worth £8 per share soon evaporated.
This recent fall seems overdone.

It's unfortunate that many people and some staff still see this as a Public Sector entity when it's not.

Lord loads - on your point about letters, I think you misunderstand the nature of this part of the business. They are subject to the Universal service obligation under which they are required to provide postal services. If they had the choice they would probably exit this business altogether as it is in rapid decline. The best they can do is to agree prices increases to cover their costs, and it's pleasing they've have beens able to agree this.

I think we are down the lower end as regards to postal charges in the EU

Partly a sign of the times. But equally a sign of the spiralling cost. Cause and effect.

I don't think they can force people to send Letters, that's just a sign of the times as we all know.
Have the share buybacks stopped?

riverman77 - you say "the fact that they are able to agree an increase in stamp prices is a good sign". I say "the fact they consider it sound business to increase stamp prices whilst demand for letters continues to plummet is a very bad sign". But then you'd expect no less from Royal Mail management. They're hopeless. Failed to innovate significantly for decades (I mean, manual sorting still widespread in this day & age). Failed to tame their strike-obsessed unions. Now in terminal decline, offering an ever-poorer, ever-pricier service to customers. And no, I don't work for any of their competitors, though I took our company business away from them over a year ago & never looked back.

Well that's part of the reason for the rise - fewer people sending letters means it becomes more expensive due to lower densities. The fact that they are able too agree an increase in stamp prices is a good sign. Of course, most of their revenue now comes from parcels, but here they in charge of prices.

Stamp prices to rise by 10p (big increase in percentage terms). As I suspected, rising wage and other costs will simply be passed through to higher prices - rather undermines the bear case put forward by Liberum and others recently.
