When I get deliveries fron Next as I do very frequently its always a fat bird in her own car. She does not work for Royal mail. She is too fat for them.

Next don't use RM for delivery. They use private individual couriers in cars usually.

Next, regarded as a bellwether for the high street, reported 15.2% growth in online sales. I assume that's the only reason RM has bounced.

Keep in mind most stocks in decline never go down in a straight line.

Short squeeze and or just oversold? Not much strength anywhere else in the main market. Anyway averaging down seems like it wasn't a bad shout so far GL all.

I think the market expects letter vols to drop significantly. However, this needs to be covered by parcel vol.

I can tell you now from my mail centre that letters have fallen off a cliff. A Manager who has been at the centre for years said it was the worst ever.

When will the next profit warning land ?

I agree, revenue will be up on last year.

Plenty of cards posted at Christmas. Parcel volumes will be up. Good news coming mid January.

We all know about the decline in letter volumes, so nothing new there, though I question your 'fallen off a cliff' comment. RM said in October they expected a 7% fall in letter volumes this year. Saying all that RM was looking to hire 23000 seasonal workers - hxxps://www.royalmailgroup.com/en/press-centre/press-releases/royal-mail/royal-mail-opens-six-temporary-parcel-sort-centres-to-help-handle-christmas-volumes/

"So why did RM open six temporary Parcel Sort Centres to help handle Christmas volumes?"

The answer is in your question. Parcels. I was talking about MAIL which is letters.
Letter volumes have fallen off a cliff.

Many years ago I knew someone who knew someone who bought 300 forged £50 notes. He paid £900 and thus cleared 14 grand in a weekend.

My point is, he paid £3 per note - with a face value of £50. What would be the cost of a forged stamp, for pete's sake? I can't see forged or uncancelled stamps as any real attack on RMG's revenues.

Judging by the volumes of mail in my local mail centre I would think another profit warning is due.

One of my Managers said to me he had never seen it so quiet at Xmas.

Me also. They are a funny share. Incredibly volatile given the nature of their business. I was holding them last year when they dropped below 4 quid and everyone was giving them the kiss of death. Then it shot up 50%. There's not much risk buying here and patience will be required but we will make 50% again.

I've bought into RMG. Just a small percentage. Price per share is lower than NTAV per share. Just sit on it and see what happens. I don't see any catalyst for improvement ATM and I'm not looking for one. If there was one it wouldn't be so cheap. UK industrial transportation is undervalued ATM and have decided to buy into it. The other stock I hold in this sector is Eddie Stobart.
