20/12/2018 10:55 | Not such a bad idea | muffinhead
20/12/2018 10:28 | Taking RMG back at the flotation price would currently amount to 20% upside. But then Labour argued vehemently at the time that it was sold too cheaply. | andyj
20/12/2018 09:48 | That is what they do in communist countries. I do not believe he will have the nerve to do that, much as he wants to. | andyj
20/12/2018 09:33 | Next election could be much sooner. Market clearly fears this. PS I am no fan of marxist Corbyn merely stating his pledge. | mjones727
20/12/2018 09:22 | Yeah of course he will, along with the railways and the top 6 energy companies. Next election isn't till 2020 and the Tories will have a new fresher leader by then. Labour will still have that idiot in charge and all the muppets underneath him. | gaffer73
20/12/2018 09:07 | "B&B were bust and held millions of customers money so it's completely different. The government can't just take a company because they want to. Anyway who in their right mind is going to vote for that scruffy idiot." Corbyn can and will nationalise RM and give shareholders nothing should he be elected. | mjones727
20/12/2018 08:43 | Yes especially after what he said to poor Theresa. | meijiman
20/12/2018 08:37 | B&B were bust and held millions of customers money so it's completely different. The government can't just take a company because they want to. Anyway who in their right mind is going to vote for that scruffy idiot. | gaffer73

19/12/2018 18:50 | encarter I work for Angard who are the official RM agency. I was at my local mail centre the other night. Lots of Xmas casuals who were taken on just for DEC were sent home as not enough work. They all have a contract which is a ZERO hours contract just for DEC. Whilst discussing this issue on a break with a very senior RM bod he told me they are only paid for hours actually worked. I can only pass on what I am told. | mjones727
19/12/2018 17:24 | Things have changed from years ago. | encarter
19/12/2018 17:22 | Christmas casuals get a contract to work their Christmas hours, it's a fact. If you work their then ask one. | encarter
19/12/2018 17:16 | they don't get paid I use to be one years ago | ccraig69
19/12/2018 16:56 | I work part time in my local mail centre. I know what I am talking about. | mjones727
19/12/2018 13:16 | I disagree. | encarter
19/12/2018 12:43 | I have seen for myself in my local mail centre Xmas casuals being told not to come in anymore. Thus they won't be paid. They are taken on just for DEC. RM are not obliged to pay them for any work they don't do. | mjones727
19/12/2018 12:18 | If you're hearing that Xmas casuals are being layed off then you need to get a new source. Xmas casuals get a short term contract. It would be pointless laying them off if they still got paid. | encarter
19/12/2018 11:07 | "UK leader in parcel delivery. It does more parcels than all the other parcel companies combined" Indeed but you haven't mentioned the huge pricing pressure in the market have you. | mjones727
19/12/2018 10:58 | I have done all my Christmas shopping online this year and 90% of it was delivered by RM, surely I'm not the only one?? | gaffer73
19/12/2018 10:49 | If RMG hurts, the others are hurting also Yodel accounts can be viewed online. It is loss making | muffinhead
19/12/2018 10:46 | dividend is only coverd based on current profit forecasts From why I am hearing from my local mail centre is that many xmas casuals who were taken on for DEC only have been layed off due to not enough work. This has never happended before. I expect another warning. A divi cut and sub 100p | mjones727
19/12/2018 10:43 | forecast means little if it gets destroyed by writedowns etc. They certainly did not forecast of over half a billion of writedown the last couple of years. | scamper
19/12/2018 10:39 | But what is to come? I was waiting to buy at 450 a few months ago and so dodged the bullet of the price crash by pure luck. After that I had to review the whole position. OK, we all know letters have fallen, but that's not an issue - they are probably at their base level of necessary letters for lawyers and such. But parcels - I'm getting more and more stuff delivered by Yodel and the like and I use them myself too. If it's true RMG is an inflexible, civil service type organization, will they be able to meet that challenge? Of course there's no knowing if the people on this board claiming to work at RMG really do. | grahamite2 |
