17/10/2019 13:22 | In these febrile times, given the choice between no Brexit or no Northern Ireland (population 1.85 million), I wonder how the English would vote? | leedskier

17/10/2019 12:59 | hi heapos , I would say the chart shows it could get to at least 245 and then on to about 262. But with bank stocks like this dependant on flow of brexit news and cable performance I think the chart has less relevance and you are right to go on emotion and brexit news . let's hope we remain in EU after the confirmatory referendum as that will help to achieve my aforementioned targets . good luck sport | arja
17/10/2019 12:38 | Today's trading high 238p so far. I just want to point out that the techs are becoming overbought - RSI, MACD, Slow Stochastic, for example. The risk of a change of direction is therefore increasing, according to the techs. | polar fox
17/10/2019 12:02 | Chris Morris saying that the new text is 60 pages long, the total for the WA now around 600 pages, That leads him to remind viewers that the deal is still 90% May's WA. That is going to be ammo indeed for the opposition. | polar fox
17/10/2019 11:54 | Farage being interviewed on 231. He's totally negative, as you would expect - he has a long list of terrible criticisms! Nothing new about his attitude, but a gift to him politically, of course, if there is going to be a public vote of any kind. | polar fox
17/10/2019 11:46 | RBS share price could rise by over 90%, says Broker Jefferies “High levels” of capital repatriation are seen supporting share price momentum at RBS and Lloyds, the analysts said. Shares in Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC (LON:RBS) could rise by over 90% according to a new assessment on UK banks from analysts at Jefferies. In a note on Monday, the US investment bank, which rates RBS at a ‘buy’ with a 418p target price, said they expected mortgage loan growth to accelerate in the fourth quarter of this year. Net interest margin, the amount a bank earns in interest compared to interest paid out to lenders, was predicted to ease off at RBC in the back end of the current year, but Jefferies saw scope for it to “rise modestly” in 2020, driven by a shift towards UK retail banking “High levels” of capital repatriation, when a company’s offshore assets are converted back into its domestic currency, is also seen support share price momentum at RBS and Lloyds Banking Group PLC (LON:LLOY), the analysts said, with RBS predicted to repatriate 41% of its current market cap by the end of 2021 and Lloyds 30%. RBS is also predicted to benefit from a fall in the cost of equity, the amount the bank pays to its shareholders to compensate for their investment risk, by 10% over the coming months, giving it an extra “valuation uplift” that makes it “top of the pecking order” among the UK banks in Jefferies' coverage. 17/10/2019 11:34 | Thanks LS. So the W for example on Hays (another of my holdings) for the 50 day SMA would also suggest sentiment on Hays is also bullish then? | heapos
17/10/2019 11:27 | The large chart above shows that the current share price is now above the 200 day moving average price. That is generally considered bullish. | leedskier
17/10/2019 11:25 | The W from October 18 to date or more recent? | heapos

17/10/2019 11:21 | arja - as I'm a novice and only hold £30,000 in RBS when I got in earlier in the year, why does the chart look good? I buy on sentiment and not on charts so would be useful for me to understand what you mean please. Thanks. | heapos

17/10/2019 11:17 | really come off in last 10 minutes from 237 peak but not sure why as surely DUP support not needed . Anyway , the deal is academic probably as likely to be a confirmatory referendum and of course remain will win comfortably unless Johnson can interfere with referendum result ( not joking !! ) . | arja
