We seem to be living in alternative universe contrived by the Main Stream Media to ensure they dominate our lives. On the one hand there is a Johnson Brexit. It is about exploiting globalisation and the freedom of movement of capital around the world. It is the model for which the wheeler dealer spiv Farage and his mates clamour. Then there is the Corbyn Brexit, protective and state directed investment to serve the interests of his working class constituency. In other words there are two minor factions in the electorate whose combined vote requested the government deliver two polar opposites of the future UK model of trading. No one, amongst the numbskulls promoting this controversy, fesses up to the reality of the situation. Neither model should be delivered because neither has universal support. The dishonesty and controversy just serve the interests of the media and those closely related parties who profit from market rumour-mongering and the volatility accompanying it.

More likely the markets recognise that if the HoC does not support the deal, Boris will write the letter seeking an extension,

I thought the Brexit sensitive shares would fall more today in view of the DUP announcement. Some still have faith in a deal it seems

Cabinet lasted only 40 mins, 1922 meeting lasted only 8 mins, according to Vicki Young. She says BJ didn't really have anything to say, other than it's not yet sorted.

DUP Leader Denies Opposition to Deal Is Softening.

This supports LauraK's denial above.

Edit:

Arlene Foster tweet

'EU sources' are talking nonsense. Discussions continue. Needs to be a sensible deal which unionists and nationalists can support.

Boris should threaten the DUP with a Unity referendum in NI. Latest polls suggest that the majority would vote for it.

So it was just reported on R4, that RTE is saying that the DUP has conceded on the matter of consent. But LauraK just denied that on R4 as I type this! I'm going back to sleep...

Brexit Poll: Most Brits want to honour Brexit referendum
A majority of people want the UK to respect the Brexit referendum result, according to a new poll.

The Comres survey revealed today that 54 per cent of people wanted to respect the Brexit referendum result and leave the European Union, with 32 per cent preferring to remain.

The question posed by polling company was: “Regardless of the way you voted in the 2016 referendum, do you support or oppose the UK abiding by the referendum result and leaving the EU?”

The largest age group to support the motion was those aged over 55, with 69 per cent in support.

Just 31 per cent of 18-24 year-olds were in favour of leaving the EU.

Sixty per cent of males and 48 per cent of females surveyed said they supported the UK leaving the EU.

Meanwhile, 31 per cent of males polled and 33 per cent of females polled said they wanted to remain despite the referendum result.

Geographically, the motion was supported in every English region except for London.

The results were gathered from a survey of 26,000 adults polled between 2 October and 14 October.

The result of the Comres survey comes after a Yougov “poll of polls” last week that said a majority of Britons would now vote to remain in the European Union.

Could we see a huge rise if there's a deal or sell on news?

If you want to make a large amount of money you need to buy RBS shares before the brexit news has been announced everybody knows that and it's no good if you are in the toilet when that happens.
