Looking Back :-

Chinese Investor (RBS) 01 Jun 2019 - 13:07:55

The 82p genuine claimants "owned" 244,000,000 shares (Pot being 200 million pounds).
We were recently told there could be 90,000,000 "phantom" shares.
i.e. 154,000,000 genuine shares.

Pot could now be 126 million pounds with possible Total Costs being 37 million pounds !
i.e. Total Payout would be 58p per share !

Worst case scenario -> Total Costs being another 29 million pounds -> 39p per share !

We have received an interim payment of 30p !

Interesting thoughts CI, like you I am really wondering to what extent the "phantom" shares will affect the final determination. It is noticeable that Signature never really mentions this issue directly in their updates! However, matters are grinding, slowly, to a conclusion though it seems, with the two main court cases not due until May next year, the final determination is not likely before late summer 2020 at the earliest! The best report in the latest update however is undoubtedly the news that the Evalusafety claim seems dead in the water. I'm going to have a nice stiff dram to celebrate, :-)

I was encouraged by the paragraph "Negotiations with RBS" - will RBS be sympathetic in the way we retail claimants have been duped (e.g. phantom shares etc) ?

Have a good weekend y'all.

p.s. I made a mint on my RBS holding today !

This is what I think :-

1) "The Action Group" are unlikely to receive the 20 million - they can keep the "contributions"
2) Vannin to receive 5 million in an out of court settlement
3) The Corporate Claimants to give us a couple of million
4) Slim chance of happening
5) No comment

We claimants have received around 40 million so far.....we could be receiving 120 million more if there are no "phantom" shares !

The "elephants in the room" are the "phantom" shares and....the possibility that Signature are on a huge "success fee" !

Looking Back :-

Chinese Investor (RBS) 1 Jun '19 - 12:44
This is what I would like to happen :-

1) "The Action Group" to receive no new money
(IN COURT 2020 - They want another £20 million)
(they have received £8 million "contributions")

2) The Early Funders (i.e. Vannin) to receive £5 million
(IN COURT March 2020 - Vannin want £14 million)

3) The Corporate Claimants to give us a couple of million
(IN COURT May 2020)

4) Small claimants to be given a refund on a proportion of their "contributions"
(slim chance of happening)

5) Gerard Walsh to be investigated

Total Costs :-
Signature (£24 million)
Vannin (£5 million)
Bird & Bird (£6 million)
"Action Group" (£2 million - they paid B&B £6 million)
Total Costs to be £37 million

Total Pot should be £200 million but it could be a lot less due to "phantom shares" !

That's true. Let's hope that a deal goes through.

Just imagine the rise in stock prices if a deal is confirmed and then another rise if approved by parliament!

Still I'm scaling back my leveraged positions to reduce risk and free up some capital.

BBC: 27 give green light to go ahead with "tunnel negotiations".

Must be something worthwhile to the proposals then.

If Rees Mogg remains a member of the cabinet, it would be surprising if all the Spartans vote against him and Boris.

But there are thought to be at least 40 Labour MPS who are likely to support a deal.
