On polling, John Curtice, just now, thinks that a GE would produce a result similar to the present count - a hung Parliament. BUT, he says, the progress/result of Brexit, relative to the timing of a GE, will be crucial.

I think we probably knew that already.

We live in strange times when Trump & Johnson are the "peoples' " choice.

"Politics is all a TV show" is the new mantra in the USA. Could it be so in the UK too?

Populism may become as big a threat to peace in the 21st century as fascism and communism was in the 20th century.

Norman Smith thinks that BJ will be in the HoC late this afternoon, but nothing official yet, after a number of statements.

Leeds - the Polls also show overwhelming support for Boris. We NEED a GE and I am convinced the Tory's will win easily - we voted out - the public are livid with the pathetic BS going on in the HoP!

Yesterday evening, YouGov reported 49-30 in f/o the SC.

Listening to the exchanges on 231 and such like, I sense a change for the worse, probably because of yesterday. Interviewees of every kind seem to be instantly at one anothers' throats, on practically any question asked. No one is holding back any longer. Presumably, the HoC is simply going to be an absolute bearpit from today on.
Politics, in this country, is breaking down to new lows before one's very eyes!

Two opinion polls, one commissioned by the Telegraph, show an overwhelming majority of voters agree with the Supreme Court.

BJ has just landed at Heathrow. Everyone's speculating whether he will give a statement to the HoC or not later.

Talking of travel companies, if in early Q1/2009 one had invested just £10K in Philip Meeson's Dart Group (DTG) which owns JET2, and never sold, the shares would today be worth more than £250K and the current annual dividend return on the original investment would be some 30%.

Leeds - ok...split will be Tory, Lib Dem and I hope labour smashed....but, as I said, the SNP may well hold the power if they get 50seats...then,guess, what, the whole mess starts again!!!
Or the Tories smash it and we finally get out of a crumbling so called eu..which = 4 countries and a load of nothings!

Getting ready for Corbyn on 232. Ordinarily I wouldn't waste the time, but I'm hoping he will tear into the PM, with some cutting humour - just for once!

Yes Thomas Cook is rather like RBS in 2008.

But I guess you think lack of regulation paid no part in its need for a bail out either.

cfc1 one cannot approach this issue with a religious zeal and allow emotions to colour one's judgment.

Aside from politics the lead story is that 150K Brits are stuck in remote airports awaiting 'mercy' flights home.

Why is that?

Because a British (not EU) company has entered administration leaving a trail of debts across the planet running into £billions.

What does that say about the health and regulation of the UK?

Incidentally ATOL is a Government body. It will be the tax payers who will be picking up the bill for all of this.

Leeds don't you understand the art of negotiating? NO DEAL has to be a threat.
Infact this so called disaster of no deal - can you spell the FACTS out for me/us?
More total BS!
Have you also noticed the pathetic mess the so called eu is in?

For the avoidance of doubt, notwithstanding my preference for the UK to remain in the EU, I can adjust to departure with a deal. To leave without a deal would be a disaster for both the UK and EU.

I do not think that the issue of whether there has to be a deal in place before we leave will be resolved by a GE. There is only one way that it will be resolved -- within the law -- and that is by either tacking a referendum onto the GE ballot paper or holding a referendum either before or after a GE.

Folk may come on here and post about rebels and remainiacs as much as they like but it does not alter the simple fact that the majority of Conservative and Labour MPs demand that we ONLY leave with a deal in place.
