24/7/2024 11:34 | Roger, why not go and buy Boeing as you appear to dislike RR. In the meantime 24/07/24 Farnborough Rolls-Royce and Vietjet sign TotalCare agreement for 40 Trent 7000 engines | ![]() goodbuyexsell
24/7/2024 10:52 | As I said , RR have yet to implement one more Trent1000 upgrade which they have held back on. Perhaps they believe the engines performance is acceptable as it is, my view is contrary , the upgrade needs to be implemented pdq in order to succeed in the long game. As a parallel, RR had a similar 2/3 dominance on the A330ceo and ended up being the sole supplier to the neo. | ![]() rogerrail
24/7/2024 10:41 | It's pretty obvious the customers hate T1000 but it should just about sorted now. Let's hope | vikingwarrier
24/7/2024 10:20 | Good news and the bad news, "maturity problems" is that a way of saying the mods havent been implimented. IAG's selection of the GEnx is part of a broader trend. According to the Aviation Week Network Fleet Discovery database, 787 customers have selected GEnx engines for 677 aircraft versus Trent 1000s for just 71. The Trent 1000 has had maturity problems for several years that have substantially affected operations at many airlines. “We’ve lost market share on this engine because it’s not sufficiently durable,” Rolls-Royce head of engineering Simon Burr said at a recent company briefing. | ![]() jackdaw4243

24/7/2024 09:58 | An Airbus without wings is just a bus. The EU nearly took that option during Brexit. Boing bounces from one major issue to the next. | vikingwarrier

24/7/2024 08:16 | Rolls-Royce signs £232m private jets deal Rolls-Royce has signed a deal with American private jet carrier JSX worth $300m (£232m) over ten years. The Derby-headquartered FTSE 100 giant has penned a Totalcare and Selectcare service agreement with the company for its 162-strong fleet of Rolls-Royce AE 3007A engines. The engines power the air carrier’s fleet of 77 Embraer ERJ-145 and ERJ-135 aircraft. A total of 127 engines will be covered under TotalCare; 35 engines will be covered under SelectCare with an option to transition coverage into TotalCare; and the agreement will cover JSX engines for ten years. Piers Keywood, senior vice president – Americas, Rolls-Royce, said: “This is the largest ERJ fleet in the world and we’re proud to be able to give ten years of TotalCare and SelectCare assurance to our customer JSX to support its ambitions.” Jeff Simmons, JSX’s chief financial officer, added: “Maximising engine reliability is integral to the success of our business as JSX expands its public charter jet service to more communities. “We’re proud to work alongside a company as well-respected and globally admired as Rolls-Royce and are looking forward to a fruitful partnership.” The news comes after Virgin Atlantic announced it had ordered seven new plans as it looks to complete its multibillion-dollar fleet transformation and return to the black. The airline, which is backed by Richard Branson’s Virgin Group and Delta Airlines, has ordered seven new Airbus A330-900s which will be delivered from 2027. The deal, the value of which has not been disclosed, will take the carrier’s total A330neo fleet to 19. Virgin Atlantic said it will use the new A330-900s to replace its A330-300s, which it received in 2011. | ![]() freddie01
24/7/2024 07:56 | Its the airlines which order the engines. Produce an engine 25% more efficient and the airlines will be buying no matter what Airbus or Boing say. Boing was paid millions by GE to be sole supplier to the 777 and a lot of problems later its cost Boing an awful lot more for that decision. | vikingwarrier

23/7/2024 17:46 | RR risk losing Boeing as a customer, they dont have any engines on any other platform and if they get bombed off the B787 with it could go any opportunity to get back into narrowbody. They need to provide a competitive offering and if that includes implementing the remaining fix on the Trent 1000 and discounting engine service costs until they do so be it, the incentive will be there to improve the engine, They have to look at the long game, I guess Tufan is not too interested in that view. | ![]() rogerrail

23/7/2024 16:41 | I firmly believ that RR will go it alone on the narrow body engine. WHy let another competitor join you and learn about your ULTRA FAN? | vikingwarrier

23/7/2024 16:36 | RR been developing this Geared Fan for narrow-body market for a few years. It was always timed at 2025, needed an aircraft to power. A huge market, this is good news. Withdrawing from this engine type with Pratt after the V2500 joint venture was in retrospect a mistake. But better to lead the project, joint ventures are often difficult. If we can get a launch customer it would give another boost to the share price. | ![]() careful
