Puns apart, if and when decisions are made on SMR's from both UK and foreign interests, this thing will be going thermo-nuclear, Sky's the limit etc. Also recent life improvements to the fan blades, which has been a bit of a spectre over the company, will start to unwind in to orders, as who doesn't like both efficiency and less down time. I think this is going to be one of those Next things and some will be saying that they sold out at £10-15 when the shares are hitting £30-£50 in a few years.

S&P Global upgrades credit rating for Rolls-RoyceThu, 22nd Aug 2024 09:29Sharecast News(Sharecast News) - Credit ratings agency S&P Global has upgraded its view on aerospace engineer Rolls-Royce by one notch on the back of the group's rising profitability, strong cash generation and deleveraging. The brighter outlook follows the company's half-year report on 1 August, which showed that operating profit margins rose to 14% from 9.7% a year earlier, driven by margin improvements in the civil aerospace division due to an increasing contribution from aftermarket services."While the material growth in margins in civil aerospace is expected to flatten over the next few years, we think other business lines could support further margin increases," S&P Global said in a research note. The agency has now lifted its profit forecasts for Rolls-Royce over 2024 and 2025, along with its free cash flow projections."Improvements in free cash flow are supported by an increase in engine flying hours, resulting in growing long-term service agreement (LTSA) balances and higher shop visits in civil aerospace, along with continued pricing initiatives and actions completed under the Transformation Program," S&P Global said.Meanwhile, with the balance sheet expected to continue improving, the agency expects Rolls-Royce's adjusted debt-to-EBITDA ratio will stay "well below" 1.5x for the next two years."We therefore raised our issuer credit ratings on Rolls-Royce to 'BBB/A-2' from 'BBB-/A-3', as well as the issue rating on Rolls-Royce's senior unsecured debt to 'BBB' from 'BBB-'."The positive outlook reflects that we could raise the rating over the next 18-24 months if the company maintains strong performance and implements predictable financial policies that support a higher credit standing even in weaker market conditions."Rolls-Royce shares were up 0.9% at 496.7p by 1039 BST.

Here is a good little read for you all !! Are You Looking for a Top Momentum Pick? Why Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC (RYCEY) is a Great ChoiceZacks Equity ResearchWed, 21 Aug 2024 at 5:00 PM BST4-min readMomentum investing revolves around the idea of following a stock's recent trend in either direction. In the 'long' context, investors will be essentially be "buying high, but hoping to sell even higher." With this methodology, taking advantage of trends in a stock's price is key; once a stock establishes a course, it is more than likely to continue moving that way. The goal is that once a stock heads down a fixed path, it will lead to timely and profitable trades. While many investors like to look for momentum in stocks, this can be very tough to define. There is a lot of debate surrounding which metrics are the best to focus on and which are poor quality indicators of future performance. The Zacks Momentum Style Score, part of the Zacks Style Scores, helps address this issue for us.Below, we take a look at Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC (RYCEY), a company that currently holds a Momentum Style Score of A. We also talk about price change and earnings estimate revisions, two of the main aspects of the Momentum Style Score. It's also important to note that Style Scores work as a complement to the Zacks Rank, our stock rating system that has an impressive track record of outperformance. Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC currently has a Zacks Rank of #2 (Buy). Our research shows that stocks rated Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) and #2 (Buy) and Style Scores of A or B outperform the market over the following one-month period. You can see the current list of Zacks #1 Rank Stocks here >>>Set to Beat the Market? In order to see if RYCEY is a promising momentum pick, let's examine some Momentum Style elements to see if this company holds up.A good momentum benchmark for a stock is to look at its short-term price activity, as this can reflect both current interest and if buyers or sellers currently have the upper hand. It is also useful to compare a security to its industry, as this can help investors pinpoint the top companies in a particular area. For RYCEY, shares are up 4.22% over the past week while the Zacks Aerospace - Defense Equipment industry is up 3.55% over the same time period. Shares are looking quite well from a longer time frame too, as the monthly price change of 8.53% compares favorably with the industry's 1.53% performance as well. While any stock can see a spike in price, it takes a real winner to consistently outperform the market. Over the past quarter, shares of Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC have risen 11.38%, and are up 152.38% in the last year. In comparison, the S&P 500 has only moved 5.75% and 29.69%, respectively.Investors should also pay attention to RYCEY's average 20-day trading volume. Volume is a useful item in many ways, and the 20-day average establishes a good price-to-volume baseline; a rising stock with above average volume is generally a bullish sign, whereas a declining stock on above average volume is typically bearish. RYCEY is currently averaging 2,896,321 shares for the last 20 days.Earnings OutlookThe Zacks Momentum Style Score also takes into account trends in estimate revisions, in addition to price changes. Please note that estimate revision trends remain at the core of Zacks Rank as well. A nice path here can help show promise, and we have recently been seeing that with RYCEY.Over the past two months, 2 earnings estimates moved higher compared to none lower for the full year. These revisions helped boost RYCEY's consensus estimate, increasing from $0.21 to $0.23 in the past 60 days. Looking at the next fiscal year, 2 estimates have moved upwards while there have been no downward revisions in the same time period.Bottom LineTaking into account all of these elements, it should come as no surprise that RYCEY is a #2 (Buy) stock with a Momentum Score of A. If you've been searching for a fresh pick that's set to rise in the near-term, make sure to keep Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC on your short list.

t1000 Turbine issues sorted.

“ On Friday, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner took to the sky for flight tests with our new High Pressure Turbine blade Durability Enhancement package.

For our Trent 1000 customers this is seen as a gamechanger as it more than doubles the engine time on wing for the #Trent1000 TEN.

RR. being a FTSE100 stock will move with the index unless it has any specific news/broker upgrades etc. many things will influence the FTSE 100 index especially the strength of the pound. It is not like a small cap which are very much news based only movers. Hence why RR. sold off so aggressively on Monday 5th August and gave us all a lovely 10% off sale top up opportunity.

Tks everyone for the info. I had noticed for weeks prior to the half year figures RR would rise 8/9/10p by 9.30am and then fall back. today was the opposite. Im sticking with RR because Iam confident with the SMR consortium especially with Qatar taking a stake in 2023. It will be successful, if not in the UK, elsewhere other Govt's will be breaking down RR's door for its groundbreaking technology. Plus single aisle engines to be delivered in 2026. Just need a little calmness on the confrontation issues....Iran/Gaza/Israel/Russia/Ukraine

I suspect the US market has a market influence in RR and other, US / UK companies such as BATS, DGE and even the likes of LGEN and PHNX.

If their base rate drops their cash needs a decent home. FTSE is undervalued at the moment.

goodbuy, RR is a very special share. It often drops 10p first thing then spends the entire day recovering and can finish blue. Then the next day It magically rises 10p and finishes down. When it comes to retail you will know that its all about price points? 100p/150p/200p/ etc.500p though is when price points change to 500p/600p/700p Normally it can take a week or so to break through but such a period of consolidation is good. if the share price breaks through without consolidation then it can often quickly drop below the price point.

Anyone have a take on why RR opened down 5p and quickly moved to -11p. Yet finished just 1p down. I. s it on the cost rails of the RR Chief Transformation Officer, Nicola Grady-Smith sale of 163,700 shares on the 14 Aug. Or is it MM’s showing resistance to £5.00?
