I work in Rolls Royce and is a well diversified company, nuclear submarines, defence needed by the government with high value technology and a cash reserve, It's hybrid technology especially valuable going forward. Grounded planes issue should be cleared this year. Only negative is the planes are not flying now but this will blow over, a temporary thing. A few are hoping for an share price crash just so they can load up so good luck calling the bottom. It already came down 50% very recently due to the virus so don't miss the boat!

I think your right about shorters under a £1 is wow for me as I got out of RR stocks at £6.75 so to come back in at under a pound would be like Christmas coming early
I’m hopping for under a £1 but in truth don’t think I be that lucky

Hardly think a one week shutdown will put back grounded planes until Xmas they just pausing to reassess health and safety methods and procedures to enable production and overhaul to continue safely. Also share price already come down 40-50% in last week or two so a lot of this short term temporary hitch is priced in. Major Airlines and RR will get bailed out if needed as the industry is a necessary one for society. I see a cash burn here but nothing too serious. All companies are in the same boat anyway the world's gone mad!

In times of hardship fat men get thin and thin men pass away. How thin is RR.

Can’t see any good news coming anytime soon that will out way the amount of bad news that’s on the horizon for RR
UK will most likely follow Italy 10k death rate too coron19
USA death rate looks to go through the roof coron19
Third world country’s were running water is prob (no washing hands) coron19
I think China hiding it’s true coron19 deaths rate ,but that might come out very soon if it is
Looks like corona 19 going be bad news tell we get corona virus vaccine 8 months away at best
World recession is only just starting
And a few months ago everyone was wondering what BREXIT would do to share prices almost small fry now
If any other countrys leave Europe, what would that do to Europe, could Europe breakup or just the talk of Europe breaking up do stock markets
And if UK needs another injection of billions cash in few months (och)
And if USA needs another injection of trillions cash (och)
The work on there problem engine that’s grounding planes will slow down due to staff (corona 19 again)so the hope of that getting better by summer more like next Christmas
But all I all I think RR is a good company to invest in but not now , and I will put my money back in them , I cant see anything happening good soon so going wait a bit longer, think the share price might drop a bit more
£1 sounds good

It was important for RR. that the US government signalled that Boeing would not be allowed to go out of business.

It is the details of these huge bale outs that will effect shareholders.
The companies will survive but the shareholders will take a hit.

Does the UK government still have a "golden share" in RR and is foreign ownership of share still limited to 15%?

Hope rr. will survive this.
Hard to be cheerful.

Hoping some of the large order book will survive, mostly Trent XWB.
Must be loss making at present, with part of profits linked to hours flown.

Exiting the EU. threatens joint military programmes, so successful in the past.

And if that ins't gloomy enough the Treasury boys hedging operations have a gift for losing billions. they seem to fear that if £Stirling gets strong compared the the US we shall be in trouble.
Fat chance, sometimes doing nothing is the best course of action.
So a rights issue must be inevitable.

the real long term value of RR. is what it would be worth to others.
Well above todays price.

It’s like you are walking behind a pick up truck wheeling a suitcase and someone in throwing bundles of £50 notes out..you are going to pick them up, as there is no traffic behind you.

As jackdaw says. I believe the engines are rented and only paid for on a use basis. No use...no income.
