08/2/2020 09:49 | If any Asian country will dodge this Coronavirus bullet(assuming it isnt a bio lab manufactured weapon but is based on infected animals in Wuhan food marketplace) then it will be Singapore. Their food standards on the hygiene front are superb. Singapore is also very clean. Little litter on the streets. etc etc. But there is a large Chinese populace there so who knows how many came from mainland China for the CNY celebs. | crossing_the_rubicon
07/2/2020 20:42 | If Singapore isn't in lock down by then........... | grahamburn

27/1/2020 10:58 | The issue with the Trent XWB engine resulting in the diversion of a Delta Airlines A350 last week rattled nerves. Some Trent 1000 Dreamliner engines have recently experienced surges to add to the expensive catalogue of problems which triggered another air safety directive. | standish11
27/1/2020 10:58 | Double whammy of climate fright plus CoV potentially driving flight miles down | nicd
27/1/2020 09:54 | New 3 yr low ; can't see much good here at the moment. | wad collector
23/1/2020 11:06 | US order for 50 x C130J's implies $250m+ order for RR Inc. I suppose it keeps things ticking over at its us plant. | rogerrail
15/1/2020 20:39 | That would only really benefit BMW as they own the auto division. | johnboyjovi
11/1/2020 12:29 | Rolls-Royce touts ‘world-first&r UK aerospace engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce is developing "world-first" technology for the Tempest future fighter project, the company announced on 10 January. | ribblewader
07/1/2020 14:12 | Exactly careful. Operational risk is very high and if a fault is found on one of the popular engines it quickly burns into earnings (forgive the pun). Computer modelling, analysis and simulation would hopefully reduce these issues but I don't have any measure of how much this is in control even though I understand much of what is involved. | minerve 2
07/1/2020 14:02 | As Boeing know, a large installed fleet can create problems when things go wrong. They need to reposition the engines and possibly redesign the undercarriage on all aircraft. That would cost billions. So they hope to get away by changing the sensors to control a dodgy situation at full power takeoff. RR. Seem to have a range of technical problems such as corrosion and losing compressor blades that would shock previous generations of engineers. Could it be that RR.and Boeing have lost experience and know how? Early retirement packages may look cost effective in the short term, but priceless know how and experience is lost forever. | careful
07/1/2020 11:52 | See article in FT - 17th Dec 2019 "Rolls-Royce chief battles with turnround as engine woes persist" | sailing john
07/1/2020 11:46 | All engines for the 737 MAX are supplied by CFM. I presume the weakness in the RR shares is due to broker downgrades ahead of the Final results announcement next month. | standish11
07/1/2020 09:54 | Is the share price drop still MAX related?? Just glad I only have a small RR holding... | kanwar
19/12/2019 09:09 | Well at least the FCF targets are likely to be hit/exceeded. That was the basis for my investment. | f15jcm
18/12/2019 09:44 | Not too bad, quite positive and pretty honest IMHO. | kanwar |
