George Stobbard - Save yourself time and filter the last poster. 1147 was their first ever post, and no profile or history.

"why don't you guys go get a life"

What's wrong with having a life AND making money for us and our families? Are you one of those doomsters and gloomsters that suggest the world is going to end because of corona?

Btw the Netherland-isation of Renewi continues with a well regarded person (and a former FTSE 100 CEO) as Chair.

Ben Verwaayen is what we need - a recognised as experienced Chairman, and he should be, as is described, the best candidate for the job.
I'm happy with his appointment.

I have looked up Ben Verwaayen and he seems to have lots of connections everywhere.
Maybe this is what RWI needs.

This is all very confusing. Down in London up on AMX.

Things would have to be extremely desperate to stop construction work projects - it's not as if there are mass gatherings around building sites, and most workers there will be wearing masks during normal conditions to protect them from inhaling dust !

Well this is a recycling company. if people stay home and start stockpiling food, products, masks and producing waste should be a positive for the company.

Flip side, if Dutch municipalities & construction companies stop working on new infrastructure projects, RWI will take a hit because of low demand for treated concrete, soil, ash, gravel etc

Longed a few here. Stock has been clobbered and grossly oversold in the short term. Wider market bouncing abit and plenty of oversold short term bounce plays about (also picked up TMG, VTU, RCH, RFX, CIR).

Hard to call the bottom on the wider markets, but this virus is more about human tragedy than affecting the medium-longer term trajectory of companies. How gloomy are you? Let's be gloomy and anticipate a years worth of earnings being written off and a recession (whattttt?!!!!???), I'd still expect companies which have been clobbered down to low ratings to trade higher than where they are today.

It's not a structural issue and the death rates have been stated as not being a million miles off a severe flu. Plenty of gyrations in the short term of course, but looking further out, the market rallies with individual stocks rallying even on weak statements as the market looks beyond the virus imo.

You then position yourself for the "irrational downward spike".
I would count that short-term as anything below 33.
If anything countries will make MORE use of RWI rather than send plastic etc. on ships to China/Asia

with blood in the streets and the VIX at 45, support/resistance and fundamentals become irrelevant.

indiscriminate selling regardless of company and sector

Chart-wise 37 is strong support, but 40 has now become a first resistance level.

Chart-wise, the close above 40 is very encouraging. If 40 holds to the end of the week, we are looking at an upward channel formation, - higher lows & higher highs.

Renewi's main competitor in Benelux, Suez SA (market cap 9.6bn EUR) reported Q4 results today. Given the market structure in Benelux as a duopoly, the growth of Dutch/Belgian Suez division tends to track very closely that of Renewi. Suez reports always before RWI, so you can a preview every quarter of what RWI is likely to report next.

Solid results from Suez overall from recycling:

Benelux organic growth +9.3%
Processed waste volumes up +1.5%
Negative: Recyclate prices at a low level
"EBIT boosted by solid pricing trends and good operational performance more than offsetting commodity headwinds"

Very positive comment on the Hazardous Soil market (Renewi's ATM equivalent):

"Hazardous Waste performing well, driven by price increases and strong soil remediation activity in France and the Netherlands"

Renewi lacks research coverage and investor interest, so any positive comes always with a lag on the stock performance.

Mostly AT's today. Is the the MM's automatically moving the price to search stop losses and potential buy orders lower down while no one is buying/selling live?

Must admit it did rise strongly for a few days without news.

Now almost a doubler for me. I'm expecting a small pullback to cicra 40p, before a chart target of 70p, which is now the first major resistance point.
After that it's 85 which is stronger resistance.
