Posted at 12/3/2024 10:15 by george stobart Renewi welcomes Bruno Bruins as Chief Strategy Officer, a former Dutch MP and Govt Minister. So we are adding a Dutch politician on the payroll (most likely at 200k+ EUR p.a. judging from the current executive pay) for lobbying efforts in Brussels. RWI could use the same money to hire Rothchilds or Lazard for a strategic review and to invite takeover bids instead of wasting money on former politicians |
Posted at 07/2/2024 22:53 by mr george stobbart Ben Verwaayen has been appointed Renewi Chairman nearly 4 years ago (Apr-2020).He hasn't bought even £1 of RWI shares ever since and is sitting nicely on a £200k fixed salary with no variable 'at risk' incentives whilst Otto has significant skin in the game. In the 2023 AGM, Verwaayen was voted Against his re-election by c. 20% of valid ballots. He opposed all Macquarie bids and keeps grabbing fixed £200k p.a. (unprecedented number for a UK small cap NED Chair) while RWI shares are falling towards 5 quid. I predict that during the 2024 AGM in July this 20% will increase significantly and Verwaayen will most likely get the boot. |
Posted at 13/12/2023 13:29 by mr george stobbart These guys need to work harder to justify not accepting the 815p bid.Selling the onerous UK contracts and paying a nominal dividend aint gonna cut it |
Posted at 28/9/2023 20:13 by george stobbart Street says a deal is getting boiled at 850. The new Renewi Dutch management have become complacent since Toby resigned and let the stock fall into the small cap purgatory again. They should have sold the UK toxic municipal contracts years ago and Toby has been pushing it. Who would now pay any money for UK PFI onerous contracts? They should seal the deal at 850 and just move one. Not to mention the new Dutch Chairman who has been sitting there three years and hasn’t bought a single share in RWI. |
Posted at 16/5/2023 13:01 by sausage7 Fair point Outsize, could be, but I prefer my version 😃 either way, let’s hope BB has a positive impact on the perception of RWI. Not long to wait now, final results on the 25th. |
Posted at 29/4/2023 10:19 by pdosullivan Alternatively, I would like to see Renewi partnering with companies across Europe to roll out capital lite recycling JVs using RWI know-how and capital supplied by partners. |
Posted at 13/3/2023 14:07 by fairways and greens Hi all, any thoughts why RWI is down twice the index average this am ? Thanks |
Posted at 24/2/2023 15:43 by sausage7 So interesting news from the GLG camp. On the 22nd February they reduced their RWI short by 10bps. Has the short tide turned? |

Posted at 08/12/2022 10:52 by george stobart RWI announced via social media a €40 million loan agreement provided by the European Investment Bank (EIB).No details on financing costs but these funds cover most part of the remaining of the €100 million growth capex as some of it was already funded through retained earnings and no dividend payout. Yield on Renewi's traded bond 2024 (2.7%) declined on news and trades at an all time low suggesting that credit investors are relaxed about RWI prospects. |
