Posted at 28/11/2024 17:28 by theolonghair Hi Sausage7; I am about 2 hrs drive from Amsterdam, so I would have to dig at our own management. Personally I can not confirm much with complete certainty, yet this time it's very convincing it's the real deal. The horrible UK-contracts are gone, the dividends are back, they acquired Paro, the 3 biggest shareholders already approved an take-over. A dutch news article surfaced about a few hours ago with a preliminary agreement, but George is absolutely right. Await the 26th of Dec. I just hope that Renewi keeps it's brand and identity and second; I hope this take over doesn't become a "decorated christmas tree" or in other words; a Death House Construction. Don't know exactly how to explain it but it is what happened to 'Vroom & Dreesman'. Bankrupcy due to something along the lines of every location was it's own holding paying rent to the holding above and so on. I'm just cautious with MAM wanting RWI so badly. I'll keep in touch. :) |
Posted at 28/11/2024 11:38 by kinwah After AUG and BIFF, it was just a matter of time before RWI went as well. It was uncomfortable watching the shares fall back but worth it in the end. Maybe like SMDS and WIN other bidders may come out of the woodwork. |
Posted at 28/11/2024 11:23 by sphere25 Another one gone...the right way.If our markets aren't going to re-rate the proper (as in outside of all that speculative garbage on AIM where de-listing's are on a tear) companies, then they're just sitting ducks really. RWI joins LGRS and DLG. Bid rumours swirling around ITV. NWOR caught a bid, TTG has apparently had a significantly higher offer than the VLX offer. That is just very recently. Clearly a much longer list beyond that. Some interesting comments by funds today as well: SCP: "Within the wider UK market, the mid-cap sector is looking particularly attractive given earnings growth expectations and healthy dividend prospects. These factors help explain the increased merger and acquisition activity within the mid-cap sector from both domestic and international corporate buyers as well as private equity investors" OIT also out today: "Sentiment towards UK equities, including small and mid-cap equities, remains depressed and fragile. However, as earnings appear to be troughing out in cyclical sectors, the Board shares our Portfolio Manager's view that, in the absence of a widespread re-rating of UK small and mid-cap equities, a resurgence in M&A, especially from overseas trade buyers, seems likely" |
Posted at 12/11/2024 12:01 by superbobo I've trimmed 80% of my position prior to RWI joining the 250 in the summer. Unfortunately the reality of the situation is that the company has a lot of issues to sort out and not much has changed since when the stock was trading sub 500 prior to the bid(apart from disposing of the UK operations with a small impairment to carry). A bid will never come in when the company is trading at 700/600p as the premium would be too small(given they rejected 50% uplift). So that takeover premium is slowly disappearing from the share price and its now trading at its fundamentals which are ok but not great. Unfortunately with all going on in the world the ESG hype is subsiding so it would be a long slog I suspect. |

Posted at 11/10/2024 18:44 by george stobbart Multiple companies are listed on London and have zero Uk assets (such as Helios Towers).RWI recently promoted to FTSE250 and would be a suicide mission delisting as it will massive passive selling from ETFs. The sensible thing to is just find a buyer at 850-1000p now that the UK pit is gone and move on. |

Posted at 29/5/2024 09:11 by george stobart Renewi very close to enter the FTSE 250 (cut off date is 4th June).Octopus Renewables (ORIT), Mobico (MCG), Ferrexpo(FXPO) are already 100% demoted. Motlen (GROW), Atayala (ATYM), Brunner Inv Trust (BUT) are already 100% promoted. There is a close race with XPS, TLW, LIO, ALFA, RWI on which will get the 4th place for promotion as there is an extra space due to an upcoming delisting of another FTSE250 stock. As it stands it is XPS ahead but RWI share price is just ~3.3% off so very close to call. It all depends what they come out tomorrow |
