It's a shame these haven't proved very stable in rocky markets. The Russian economy looks like it might take a hit from the collapsing Oil price.

Apologies for asking this question in a period of share price weakness, but it needs to be addressed - If the Russian economy turns sour is there any likely hood of confiscation of assets or the company being taken private?

My intention is not to scare anybody with this question, i would just be interested to know other long-time shareholder's thoughts.

I rather suspect that GaryCook's women "friends" have got more men than they need. They could certainly do with losing one of them.

But your a 77 year old pensioner who should know better, your post was a total disgrace.

At times like this, it is probably best to turn off all screens and not look at one’s portfolio for a week or so. Do something else, like some panic buying in the shops!

I'm not sure its a good idea to go for scrip dividends.I have a minor worry about Russian confiscation of assets, so I reason to myself -why go for more shares when you can get high dividends ? At least you have those under your belt.

This is a safe haven with this market turmoil, getting paid every 13 weeks. With a 9.4% yield. Nice.

The Federal Reserve on Tuesday cut interest rates as a result of the risk of the coronavirus. In a statement, the Fed said it decided to cut its benchmark federal funds rate by a half-point to a range of 1%-1.25%. While the fundamentals are strong, a rate cut was necessary in light of the risk to economic activity from the COVID-19, the Fed said. The central bank also trimmed the discount rate.
========================================================

This should weaken the over-strong dollar, which is good for us.

I would have thought with interest rates around the world being cut, Russia must do it surely, that a 9.4% yield paid quarterly is attractive.

Currently, 10-year US Treasuries are falling and are about 1.062% as I post. (Wow!) How long will it be before rates break down below 1% - yet people have become so panicked that they continue to sell off fixed income investments.
