The Federal Reserve on Tuesday cut interest rates as a result of the risk of the coronavirus. In a statement, the Fed said it decided to cut its benchmark federal funds rate by a half-point to a range of 1%-1.25%. While the fundamentals are strong, a rate cut was necessary in light of the risk to economic activity from the COVID-19, the Fed said. The central bank also trimmed the discount rate.

This should weaken the over-strong dollar, which is good for us.

I would have thought with interest rates around the world being cut, Russia must do it surely, that a 9.4% yield paid quarterly is attractive.

Yep, just had another small top up at just over £1.27 - happy days

So at 127 to buy yield 9.4%. Nice.

Volume is negligible so MM's will always mark down.

Currently, 10-year US Treasuries are falling and are about 1.062% as I post. (Wow!) How long will it be before rates break down below 1% - yet people have become so panicked that they continue to sell off fixed income investments.

Interest rates heading lower & staying there for the foreseeable future, so Prefs & FI the places to be, imo.

I usually take the quarterly income on RAVP, this time I took the scrip option.

Although this is still good value, there are now relatively better values elsewhere in this panic sale market, so I have sold three bundles over the last week at 134.5, 132.75 and 129p.

Have a sipp with Bell and they are quite hopeless at trading bonds online , have not tried prefs with them , but have noticed size is often a problem with them as well .

I use them and have never had problem. Dividend always in the account on the day. Plus your money is protected as owned by Lloyds Bank.

Yes, have looked at them but they seem to be very tardy with dividends, which annoys me intensely, and don't seem to have a reliable service from comments I have seen on the BB's.

Thank you, CWA1.

Monty, I have ISA's with ii & SHRE. I do not want both with ii.
The compensation limit is £ 85,000. I do not trust brokers.
I want all my ISA accounts to be covered by the comp limit.

With the drop today, this makes it close to 9% dividend payed every 12 weeks. Anything under 130 is a bargain in my opinion.

Can't sell any tbf - just did a dummy sell for a fraction of my holding and was offered £1.10!

Suspect a few selling to have ammo for other opportunities.
