25/5/2009 09:30 | Pleased with the divi increase. With N Korea and unresolved conflict zones defence related industries are unlikely to become completely unemployed - even if defence spending is tight. Let's hope also for some non-military applications from QinetiQ research. Whatever has happened to the nano-materials area they had? One comment I heard was that they have exciting technologies but are still awaiting customers for those technologies. z | zeppo

14/5/2009 10:04 | QinetiQ Group plc 14 May 2009 QinetiQ announces the disposal of its underwater systems business QinetiQ Group plc today announces that it has reached an agreement to sell its underwater systems business based in Winfrith, Dorset to Atlas Elektronik UK for a cash consideration of £23.5m. The transaction is in line with QinetiQ's strategy to dispose of certain non-core assets within its EMEA business and reallocate capital into higher growth investments. As is normal with such transactions in the UK defence market, the agreement is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to complete this summer. | sh0wmethemoney

06/5/2009 16:48 | The 'civil service' culture may still exist within QQ and this would show itself by the need for frequent re-organisations. It is a disease which besets all government departments. I still believe that cash flow is King and that means you keep bearing down on costs. | selborne_edge
06/5/2009 13:04 | $40m + up to another $40m for a loss maker with GROSS assets of $5.3m !!! Another huge chunk of 'goodwill' to amortise. Know what they are doing ? And as for yet more re-organisation costs, I remember an employee saying years ago about the management "why do they keep pulling up the plants to see how the roots are doing?" 06/5/2009 12:46 | Further to my last ; EPS of 7.2 pence (too low) ; PE of 19.3 (looks expensive). The company needs to be watched ! | selborne_edge
06/5/2009 12:40 | wad - You are right to be sceptical about QQ's policy of purchasing companies. Logica used to do this sort of thing and it proved to be an absolute disaster (Log share price is now 80 pence). But as you say lets hope that QQ knows what it is about. | selborne_edge
06/5/2009 12:30 | Another acquisition .$M40 for a loss making company which employs 75 people. I hope QQ kmows what it is doing. | wad collector

28/4/2009 19:10 | Well we're seeing some decent rises at last - hoping for plenty more as people realise how overlooked this stock is | mercury123
23/4/2009 14:01 | There seems to be a few holders with concerns about the share price at the moment. I have been a holder of this share in the past and sold out about a year ago. Recent news flow and directors buys prompted me to revisit the share yesterday. The fundamentals show a fall in profits and seem to be reflected in the share price fall. I did conclude that the price was oversold and was due to correct and started buying today. In my humble opinion the price is forming a base to rise from and the fact the share pays a 3% dividend can only be seen as a bonus. If the US markets correct from their recent rise then this stock will be seen a defensive and should provide capital gains in a declining market. Holders would be wise to add not sell in my opinion. 23/4/2009 11:02 | Come on folks - might be your last chance to get on board at such low prices (not that I'm ramping or anything!) Nice to see a little movement up at last | mercury123
23/4/2009 08:49 | guyz, good posts, since the director buy of 100k..all this has dne is go one way-DOWN!!! i for one am puzzled...it has underperformed the market in a big big way...and still brokers have BUY notes etc and price targets of well over 150p a share!!! i believe that even if it was at 200, it wud still be CHEAP! | revoc2
23/4/2009 08:44 | You make good points. However I think job mobility in the current climate is likely to be more limited than at other times. It still seems in an oversold position and has been massively under-performing the market as a whole - and I think this trend has begun to feed on itself. People are watching it and thinking there's no smoke without fire so the vicious circle down continues until eventually people find there is no significantly bad news - it is a well run company and start piling in again. That is what I'm waiting for but I'm fully invested now so no more top ups. Good luck to all | mercury123 |
