2 hefty directors disposals - Doug Webb halving his holding to 300,000 and Graham Love a third of his , selling 2,600,000 shares and transferring 300, 000 to his wife as part of a divorce settlement.
Not a vote of confidence in the company even if there are personal reasons.

US defence budget is up 7.5% to $515 Billion this year - sounds like good news for QQ one way or another. The recent American acquisitions look well timed.About time we saw some action with the QQ share price I think. I hope.

In theory Package 2 is back to the drawing board , and the MOD can change the rules as it wishes .Metrix is able to resubmit a new tender , but presumably the Political factors behind the scenes are the real forces.
Timescale? An MOD commitment to a firm date for re-tendering? What do you think this is - a private company with deadlines and budgets?

Can they still compete for Package 2, or is that done and dusted??

What is/was the timescale?

So , a year has passed since the excitement of the DTR contract and last weeks statement makes interesting reading ; the Metrix Consortium has been removed as preferred bidder for Package 2.Package 1 seems to be going on as planned.
The market seems to heve been expecting that Package 2 news as the share price has barely changed. The Cosford site is being placated with other relocations there. No recent political protestations about the contract award.Time for QQ to get on and earn some revenue methinks.

Bearing in mind that QQ. is currently trading at around 8% BELOW its' issue price of 200p (almost exactly 2 years ago), and because its' performance and rating simply cannot be so miserably sustained, I am making this stock my FTSE250 TIP for 2008!

' QinetiQ agrees to purchase two Australian defence consulting companies

QinetiQ Group plc, announces today that it has signed agreements to purchase two
Australian defence consulting businesses, Ball Solutions Group Pty Ltd and
Novare Services Pty Ltd. These acquisitions, which are subject to regulatory
approval, represent QinetiQ's first investment in Australia and provide the
company with a presence of 185 staff located in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne,
Brisbane and Adelaide.

Ball Solutions Group is a provider of professional and consulting services,
primarily to the Australian Department of Defence and has annual revenues of
A$29 million. It is being acquired for a total cash consideration of A$12
million from Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp. of Broomfield, Colorado, USA.
It operates in three main practice areas: business systems and applications;
data acquisition and management; and operations research and analysis.

Novare provides engineering and logistics services to the Australian Department
of Defence, its prime contractors and selected commercial partners. It has
annual revenues of A$6.1 million and is being acquired for a total cash
consideration of A$8 million from its founders, who will remain with the
company. Novare's core expertise is in explosive ordnance and weapons, aerospace
systems, advanced technical data management and performance based contracting.

These acquisitions represent the continuing execution of QinetiQ's strategy to
grow its Europe, Middle East and Australasia (EMEA) capabilities. They will
enhance QinetiQ's portfolio of defence and security based expertise, provide
additional routes to market and broaden QinetiQ's customer base through existing
relationships and contractual arrangements.

The acquisitions are subject to Australian and US Government regulatory approval
and are expected to complete by the end of February 2008, after which the
companies will trade as QinetiQ Consulting Pty Ltd.'
