24/5/2023 11:51 | Why would they not go through with it? Strike have agreed the deal and its now only subject to PURP GM on 2nd June for shareholder approval as far as I understand it. | zen12
24/5/2023 10:45 | Yeah there’s surely no way Anyone would genuinely want to take on the liabilities, to be realistic. £1 maybe, but via prepackaged admin without liabilities? | kreature
24/5/2023 10:27 | Kreature, are you suggesting PB couldn't get a sale over the line? Even their own, this time? BY my quick calcs, they have around £1.5 mill left in the kitty once they have got this month's salaries through. So it really is squeaky bum time for that 'deal'. | kramreklaw
24/5/2023 10:02 | So does anyone know if/when Strike pull out of the deal? Can’t imagine them going through with it really | kreature
23/5/2023 18:48 | It's an absolute bloodbath. Gerbils hit the blender at an exponential rate. | the_punted_mug
23/5/2023 15:30 | Heading to .2p where I'm going to gamble :D | g2theary
23/5/2023 13:17 | When’s the general meeting? Can’t say I’ll be voting to break the law of the land. Maybe Note 2 app lies tho ? I hate to be a stickler for the rules ….but hope they are absolutely certain that they need don’t need to wait 6 months? | kreature
23/5/2023 09:28 | Breach of rule 2.8 of the takeover code ? Rules are rules…. ‘ Shareholders will be aware that on 10 May 2023, Strike released an announcement confirming that it did not intend to make an offer for the Company. This statement is subject to Rule 2.8 of the Takeover Code and under Rule 2.8(f) of the Takeover Code, Strike would be prohibited from purchasing, agreeing to purchase or make any statement which raises or confirmed the possibility that it is interested in purchasing assets which are significant in relation to the Company for a period of six months from 10 May 2023.’ | kreature
23/5/2023 09:21 | RNS quote ‘….. it is possible that Shareholders would not receive the amount anticipated or any return at all.’ | kreature
23/5/2023 09:10 | Another know it all…. Anyway, has the Strike deal been secured in law ?? The RNS 17th May said : ‘ As at the date of this Announcement, no firm proposal has been made to the Company by any potential offerors. ‘ | kreature
22/5/2023 20:04 | Seems that was PB plan all along; spend the money on director salaries and boosting the brand until out of cash. Then directors buy it for peanuts and run it for profit. | 31337 c0d3r
22/5/2023 19:06 | Looking at the posts below encapsulates why Companies like Purplebricks & Strike fail. People happy at paying a pittance when the problem is they need to pay more for these companies to survive. PB gambled on securing 50% of the market when they can then put prices up. But they only ever achieved around 7%. You can’t charge a pultry £1000 for a decent service. They’ve burnt through hundreds of millions of share holders when they knew the sums didn’t add up. They needed to charge £2000 at least to make it work. And Strike haven’t made money either, crazy. | agentlets
22/5/2023 13:08 | a bit deceptive to make rooms look much bigger as viewers will be disappointed . Griffin photographer did not do that and latest viewer was delighted that rooms and conservatory were bigger than they expected . They want to make offer but usual story at this bad time , ie they can not get an offer yet for house they must sell but expecting one this week they say ! Who knows ! | arja
22/5/2023 13:04 | ho ho ho too . I was in contact with Strike on phone and on their site even getting an online valuation which is not much use really . In my case the additional costs including their professional photos made it a worse deal than through Griffin . I know they get other business sometimes such as conveyancing referral fees but I always do my own conveyancing as it has always been a piece of cake unless you believe scare stories from solicitors trying to protect their easy bread and butter business . OK, so better for you but worse for me sport ! read book "the conveyancing fraud " by the late Michael Joseph , top solicitor, and the clue is in the title . we might agree on one thing though , ie the vast majority of property owners are indoctrinated from an early age into using high street agents paying about £4000 if selling a house like mine for example. I doubt it will change much in next 10 or 20 years and quite crazy as all properties are on property portals on the net ! :).hardly anyone goes to a high street agent office to get leaflets of houses for sale dd | arja
22/5/2023 12:15 | "you obviously have not done any research but just believed the headline" Ho ho ho. I've actually used Strike and paid them £0. I have a good SLR Nikon and could have done my own photos, but shopped around locally and hired the photographer of my choice for £99 for modern altered-perspective photos that make everything look bigger than they are. The buyer used Strike for conveyancing, so Strike still made something on my sale - but not from me. | 31337 c0d3r
22/5/2023 12:05 | actually I did shop around online and strike would have been more expensive as it is far from zero when adding on extras , even an unavoidable one such as photographs ! you obviously have not done any research but just believed the headline . ask yourself if charging NO commission is a good business model :) | arja |
