04/4/2017 10:09 | Next years prospective yield around 5% covered 1.3x makes a secure enough position. (Provided they are correct of course!) I would look for about £35 before selling mine again , but can't see that soon.... | wad collector
01/4/2017 10:09 | Well a second big move in the last fortnight. The last one to over £30.00 was quickly reversed by profit takers. You'd think this would be one of Woodford's big targets for his new high income fund. It is alledged this is one of his holdings in the past. It must be difficult to amass a portfolio without sending the price against you, though I don't understand the technicalities of how prices are affected by such demand. may be in the scale of things tiny. | stewart64
30/3/2017 07:37 | There was Vanquis Bank credit being peddled by some young people in the manner of chuggers in my local shopping centre. This Company really go for it. Delinquencies should be high, but the model appears to be working. The figures are undeniably impressive. | stewart64
29/3/2017 10:29 | Can someone explain to me how the corporate bond works. ISIN = XS0496412064 I see a price of around 110 What is the yield on this? At 7% it seems too good to be true. | mountpleasant
28/3/2017 16:40 | Great for trading in this. Should go much higher eventually after those results, but I'm happy to pick up at 2910p in the meantime. | deadly
24/3/2017 09:47 | Just noise I guess , but creeping towards a 3 month high. My adding opportunity has passed , but I still think the whole market is toppy. | wad collector
24/3/2017 08:37 | 3% jump at the open on a dull merket day. Any news? | deadly
01/3/2017 12:02 | Minerve I think you are missing nothing ; the results once more are excellent. I do think that the share price had got ahead of itself a couple of yrs back and if you ignore that blip you see a continuing steady strong rise. .Another 12% dividend rise is stunning in today's low inflation climate.Personally I would be delighted if the share price falls back to allow me to pick more up! | wad collector
28/2/2017 12:39 | Very good results. | loftus16
28/2/2017 11:40 | Am I missing something here because those results look excellent. Is the bar so high now that we have no positive effect on the share price with results like this? | minerve
21/2/2017 12:13 | sippguru -"shame PFG were unable to work out how to take a share of it." Yes, right now PFG can't be making much on it, and yes to Amigo if their TV advertising is anything to go by. It's just that I personally would find it hard to 'guarantee' a loan to anybody, I guess I'm just an old sceptic. haha. | losos
16/2/2017 14:12 | Hi Losos, i'm not sure that's entirely true, look at the success Amigo Loans are having, they issued a bond recently raising £275M with ease, the underlying numbers and size of that business suggests one that is doing extremely well. The market looks huge, shame PFG we unable to work out how to take a share of it. | sippguru
10/2/2017 17:14 | sippguru - "lack of mention of my pet subject Glo" In the market that PFG is in finding someone to guarantee someone elses loan was always going to be hard!! A small target market, as you say better to just close it!!! | losos
30/1/2017 10:29 | Still it wasn't so bad to mark the shares down so much in this ebullient market? "The group expects to report results for 2016 in line with market expectations, with each business meeting its internal forecast." | deadly
17/1/2017 09:39 | Another trading update and another lack of mention of my pet subject Glo. Website still closed to new business and yet still not a word from PFG as to what is going on. About time they admitted they ballsed it and closed it. | sippguru
12/12/2016 21:37 | Further share price drops ; I wonder how much is influenced by last week's by bombshell news plunging PFG's previous divested company IPF down about 40%? | wad collector
07/12/2016 21:27 | Just leafing through a private client note from October recommending buy at 3289p. Glad I didn't take any notice. They may be highly paid but they are guessing too. | wad collector
24/10/2016 10:59 | Did you find anything of interest over the weekend Minerve? I got a lengthy email from their investor relations folk that read as a load of bluff and baloney not to mention being written in a multitude of fonts which suggests several people were involved in carefully drafting a reply that said nothing but wouldn't drop them in the sticky stuff with the regulator. Smacks to me of someone who's been caught trying to hide something and realises they've been caught. | sippguru
21/10/2016 14:26 | Interesting points guys and I agree with sippguru. Good corporate communications is openness and transparency and not 'sweeping things under the carpet'. Will look further into this over the weekend. If BOD start to do things like this it is a signal to sell IMO. You can't do good business with bad people. | minerve
17/10/2016 22:41 | They don't seem to be confirming anything regarding Glo other than it being closed to new business, so no longer a pilot, just collecting the £8M loan book out. Seems a bit odd that having mentioned Glo in every update for a couple of years there is no mention at all this time and the site clearly shows closed to new business. Compounded by the last update stating they were going full steam ahead with Glo this year. As a shareholder i feel misled. I wonder what the FCA would have to say about this. | sippguru
17/10/2016 22:20 | Well spotted ; no mention of glo at all in the TU. Are they arguing that it is still a pilot? | wad collector
14/10/2016 09:28 | Trading update seems misleading. The Glo website shows guarantor lending is closed to new business and when called they say they don't intend to reopen yet the TU doesn't mention it and even says they have a new platform for guarantor. Makes no sense, surely they're not hiding things from shareholders? | sippguru
14/10/2016 08:38 | Yes the market in this is bizarre, but good for trading. Fallen back again even after today's strong TU. | deadly
04/10/2016 09:38 | £32 breached . Looking back at the £21.25 low post Brexit , I am struggling to see quite what fundamentally has changed here other than sentiment , to account for a 50% share price rise. I see Woodford has been buying and now holds over 16% of the shares ; an impressive collection. I wonder if we will carry on back up to £36 again? | wad collector
03/10/2016 11:51 | £31 breached again. I see the broker consensus remains pretty strong ; Shore have tweaked up their forecast FWIW The nonsense of some broker forecasts is exemplified by the Liberum hold note with a target price of £22.56. Errr that would be a Sell then guys... 2016 2017 Date Rec Pre-tax (£) EPS (p) DPS (p) Pre-tax (£) EPS (p) DPS (p) Shore Capital 30-09-16 BUY 332.90 171.40 132.20 366.50 190.10 144.30 Panmure Gordon 30-09-16 HOLD 319.00 172.00 132.00 339.00 179.00 138.00 SG Securities 30-09-16 BUY 169.39 129.30 196.30 149.85 Peel Hunt LLP 12-09-16 BUY 334.23 171.94 132.26 366.38 188.53 145.02 Canaccord Genuity Ltd 07-09-16 BUY 335.30 171.70 133.00 368.80 190.20 147.50 Numis Securities Ltd 01-09-16 HOLD 357.80 185.00 132.20 315.90 163.20 136.6 | wad collector |
