Agreed djokovic1 & volatility set to remain over the coming months with view to global instability, apart from European Brexit instability- so scope for us to exceed expectations over the remainder of the year.

@djokovic1 - yes, I agree. Despite the volatility of the share, this is a buy and hold for me (would have been easy to take a quick profit today, but increased market vol and valuation are compelling reasons to hold).

Did a bit of quick analysis on the share buyback. They will be buying back roughly 5% of average daily volume each day assuming they buy evenly from now to end of buy back program in Mar 2020 if they buyback the full $50m. So should see some positive momentum from that.

Also given lower marketing spend, AUAC sub $800 in Q2, and increased volatility they should hit consensus (of course higher or lower depends on how volatility continues to play out). But assuming they hit cons, trading at 6x FY 19E and 4x FY19E ex-cash.

Watch the momentum of the buying pressure, as short closes and the buybacks start, on top of a decent update....

Agreed chucking, I expect CMCX to be out of business. The ceo there sounds like he should be back in the 1990’s very uninspiring.

Still they are regulated to publish that 74.6% of customers lose money. That’s a lower number than of a year or so ago, consistent with on average higher losses (from the point of view of Plus) from customer trading.

But as Odey argues, it’s completely awash. Clients winning means that in the long run, they will recycle their winnings and, although with some lag, Plus gains from increased volume. There needs to be a fertile market for that to happen, though and this has been missing in H1. Its getting a little bouncy now, though, so that augers well.

More long term, this is playing out as Odey had thought it might. Regulation followed by contraction followed by little guys going out of business. This shows as Odey gains customers with lower marketing spend per customer gained. Now need some volatility to induce the new clients to trade, but we have started to see this.

We all engage in trading activities because we hope to make money plus should shout it out on the roof tops that their clients unlike other companies make money

Its healthy that customers of plus are making money because more money they make the more the turnover will increase ratio of winners to losers is very healthy

"Active Customers(7) numbers in Q2 2019 were 11% ahead of Q1 2019 (Q1 2019: 97,921)"

So why can't they just say 108,692 ?

But active customers in Half 1 were "141,692 Active Customers in H1 2019 (H2 2018: 142,804)"

So that means that 141,692-108,692 = 32,999 (basically a round number) 33,000 were missing in quarter 2.

A coincidence that both those numbers would end in 692 exactly ?
Or just someone approximating ?

If they got 47,540 new customers in the first half and do lose those missing 33,000 in a quarter, they could be losing customers quicker than gaining them......

Half 1 headline revenues Revenues $148.0m
But that included

"Revenue from customer spreads and overnight charges ("customer income") totalled approximately $175 million"

So we can deduce that their customers took them for $27m.

We guessed that would happen as cryptos rose.

Calculating the Half 2 2018 that number was a profit instead of $62m so a whole lot depends upon client trading results and now they are saying more of their client base is experienced .....
