19/12/2012 09:46 | Looks like a fair arrangement at a fair price and not unexpected. | clocktower
19/12/2012 08:13 | Ahhh, so thats what it is then. Always a reason for an unexplained drop usually. | cfro
19/12/2012 07:57 | Got to stop buying these shares that place! :)) | battlebus2
19/12/2012 07:54 | Well, if the share price has dropped from 14p+ to below 12p as insiders knew about the placing, that situation should now reverse and we'll soon see the share price heading back to 15p+ imo. | someuwin
19/12/2012 07:24 | It's a premium to yesterday, but of course they would have started doing the rounds when the share price was at 14p... | stegrego
19/12/2012 07:14 | Great news and placing at a premium! | someuwin
10/12/2012 14:46 | Only a few weeks left until the end of year trading update. | someuwin
10/12/2012 13:42 | Yes, good spot, Euclid. I have just checked back with the 25 September Interim results and there was no mention of Chinese patents. I suspect this is indeed new news to the market. | saucepan
10/12/2012 12:39 | This is the best part of today's news release: "The Group recently received its first Chinese patents and continues to further develop its chip IP" | euclid5
10/12/2012 12:12 | While licence deal is interesting a worry (imo) that this route may be taking their concentration off SALES of products . Without sales and cash flow positive revenue no funds for R&D or marketing. Hum!!!!!!!!!!! Jury out at the moment. | pugugly
10/12/2012 09:55 | Yup - fantastic potential from this low level. | someuwin
10/12/2012 08:25 | jimbox "It's still difficult to imagine how Photonstar can compete with a R&D budget of 2.5d against the might of Nichia, Cree, Phillips etc" So said the man who 10 years ago told me that ARM could not compete with the likes of Intel. | electronica
10/12/2012 08:19 | It's still difficult to imagine how Photonstar can compete with a R&D budget of 2.5d against the might of Nichia, Cree, Phillips etc. | jimbox1
10/12/2012 07:56 | Yes, excellent. Let the uptrend resume. :-) | saucepan

10/12/2012 07:07 | License Agreement RNS RNS Number : 0636T Photonstar LED Group PLC 10 December 2012 10 December 2012 PhotonStar LED Group Plc IP licencing and design services supply agreement PhotonStar LED Group plc (AIM: PSL, "PhotonStar" or "the Group"), the British designer and manufacturer of smart LED lighting solutions, has signed its first licensing agreement for its next generation chip design patents and an associated design services supply agreement, with a leading LED chip manufacturer. The financial terms of the non-exclusive patent license agreement have not been disclosed, but are expected to start to have an impact on PhotonStar's revenues in 2014, when the resulting LED chips are to be brought to the market by the manufacturer. PhotonStar has a substantial IP platform, comprising a total of 15 patent families covering advanced LED chip design, optimal low cost packaging, advanced colour mixing and control. The LED chip patents dating back to 2008/9 are now mostly granted in Europe and progressing through the international phase. The Group recently received its first Chinese patents and continues to further develop its chip IP. James Mckenzie,CEO of PhotonStar LED Group PLC, commented "Licensing our LED chip design IP to third parties will be a key part of our business going forward, and will be a clear demonstration of the substantial value in our IP. "This agreement is a major validation of our LED chip design approach and is expected to produce LED chips with extremely high levels of chip light extraction, making them some of the lowest cost and most efficient chips available on the market." | someuwin
06/12/2012 15:35 | More likely is the share price got a bit excitable a few months back and is just reverting to mean. | stegrego
06/12/2012 13:41 | Dont know what to make of this tbh. Could just be a shakeout or could be that they are not winning the contracts they hoped to win. | cfro
06/12/2012 10:44 | Added and not worried. | stegrego
06/12/2012 10:41 | Could it be bad news leaking before the results ? Higest daily volume (already) for 2 months. Seems to have been constant small selling - Down over 33% from the top - Worrying (imo) | pugugly
05/12/2012 18:06 | Yup - can't see it staying down long. | someuwin
05/12/2012 18:05 | Another little dip today. Might be time to think about having another top-up. Only a matter of time before we get some newsflow imo. | cfro
03/12/2012 12:28 | But Prof Carroll believes OLED lights haven't lived up to the hype. "They don't last very long and they're not very bright," ____________________ "when you consider that LED lights can last up to 10 years or between 25 and 50,000 hours" | euclid5
03/12/2012 10:27 | clocktower Thank you for posting this reference to the new form of lighting invented by Dr. Carroll. It sounds wonderful and might indeed represent a threat to PSL and Dialight and everyone else in this business. Curiously enough it was reported by the BBC this morning and one does not expect them to be early with news of this kind;they must have picked it up from some local paper. Dr. C. tells us that he has had a "bulb" of this sort working for 10 years and I suppose he has been waiting for the financial backing and, no doubt, the patents before declaring his success. Perhaps he will go into a joint venture with Siemens, for example, and then we would have something to worry about. As it is, I am a little sceptical. | varies |
