Did I not read that they need AGM approval before they can start the buybacks?

I think they are being given a message - you have 24 hrs to get out to clear out and desist and after that we are coming for you - so expect we may see late buying - in effect we probably now have a floor at 359 - and that will ratched up as shorters buy to close( if they haven't already done so secretly)

Strangely stable price today.
Due to the buybacks?

Cheers Melf - yes that is the key - well in excess of the current share price - the directors are giving us a hint that there is news to come..... IMHO

Cream always rises to the top - over agitation and it will change to butter !!

I do think that perhaps the directions have a sense that at these levels the company is suseptible to a bid.

I'm still amazed that after a year of good news we are where we were at the beginning of the year. We are long overdue a huge rally.

Thanks for clarifying Wolf.

Like this bit from the RNS:

"Management sees headroom for buybacks to remain attractive at levels well in excess of the current share price."

Melf - the £100mn is just the inaugural BB programme - the company can expand that at any time.

The only max they announced was 480mn shares ( just under 10%) - don't quote me but from a dim and distant company law exam I think if more than 10% is bought back you may need approval of the courts etc......

They have set up as a buy-bot so will drip buy shares as needed in order to maximise shareholder returns.

The buyback is a stroke of genius, I did wonder why anyone would bear raid a company generating so much free cash?Grey area or not, if they are debt free next year, it must be chucking off cash... They can issue the £100m in paper once we're back over £6 as part of the next takeover deal!

I think this was with one eye on the future and further attempts to benefit from fake news. The ant hill mob had plenty of time to reduce by more than they did but clearly have an eye on further games. Greed is good but uninformed greed is foolhardy. Let the games begin.

Wolf, Isn't it limited to £100M?

Paysafe Group plc (LSE: PAYS, the "Company") today announces that it intends to commence an inaugural share buyback programme of up to GBP100 million (the "Programme").

I think the Board have timed it just fine - they had to let the dust settle - and it has only been a week - takes time to put all the pieces of the jigsaw together - especially when you are talking about upwards to £ 300/400mn
